•
The well will be drilled and developed by Gregg Drilling, a licensed C-57
contractor. A sonic drill rig is anticipated to be used to drill the well. If the drilling
becomes difficult, at the site, then a different type of drill rig will be brought in.
SWD's consulting geologist will observe the drilling and compile a hand written
drilling log. The log would be provided to EHD on-site upon request. Drilling
spoils will be stockpiled near the boring and dispersed near the vicinity of the
boring after well installation.
2.1 UNCOMPLETED BORING
If a boring is not drilled to depth by the end of a working day, the drilling area will
be cordoned with safety cones and the boring will be covered so that nothing
would fall inside.
If the initial boring does not encounter groundwater or it is difficult to drill, then the
boring will be abandoned as determined in the field by SWD. A new boring will
be drilled. Abandoned boring will be grouted with neat cement.
It is anticipated that the groundwater well will be constructed immediately after
drilling. Well construction will be according to the well detail (Figure 2) and to the
technical specifications (Appendix A). SWD's consulting Engineer or Geologist
will log the well installation and provide final well logs.
3.1 EHD INSPECTIONS
Well installation will be in the presence of EHD inspector. SWD's will
notify EHD Unit 6 inspector(s) at least five (5) working days in advance
about the project schedule and the date and time for the first inspection.
Consecutive inspections needed for the project will be scheduled with
EHD inspector on site after the first inspection.
Inspections will be coordinated with EHD for the following work:
1. Well Installation
2. Backfill of abandoned borings
Work Plan- PIC -Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation San Joaquin County
Department Of Public Works
2 Solid Waste Division
