2017-2018 WINTERIZATION PLAN <br />NORTH COUNTY LANDFILL <br />For 2017-2018 winterization operations at North County Landfill, the following existing <br />winterization measures are in place: <br />MODULES 1-4 <br />1. Grading <br />a. The top decks of Modules 1-4 have been graded to drain with 3% slope. <br />Soil berms have been placed to channel storm water runoff to designated <br />low spots or down drains. <br />b. The existing perimeter drainage ditch west of Modules 1-4 has been <br />graded to direct storm water to the north. <br />2. Winter Pad <br />a. The existing winter pad in Module 4 will be used to place refuse in the <br />remaining airspace of Module 4 (Figure 1). <br />3. Customer Haul Road <br />a. The existing customer haul road in Module 4 is an all-weather road with <br />six -inches of aggregate base. The existing customer road will provide full <br />access to the Module 4 winter pad during wet weather (Figure 1). <br />4. Drainage Ditches <br />a. The existing drainage ditches on the perimeter of Modules 1-4 will be used <br />to direct storm water runoff into NC's storm water pond and the wetlands. <br />5. Down Drains <br />a. The existing down drains will be used to convey storm water to the <br />perimeter drainage ditches of Modules 1-4. <br />NC -2017-18 Winterization Plan Page 1 of 3 Revised 10/2/2017 <br />
