0 0
8. However, there is a lack of groundwater elevation data to the east of the landfill cells, which is purpose of the
location of G-10.
By the middle of February 2018, the northern direction of flow will be better defined with the installation of G-10,. At
that time we will have a better interpretation of the groundwater flow direction to determine the location of the other
two new wells. At that time, I will send in another brief work plan with the locations of the next two wells. At the
present time the County has scheduled the driller to commence the installation of those two wells on February 19,
2018. With the groundwater exploration program described in this brief work plan, San Joaquin County's North County
landfill should have a Title 27 compliant groundwater monitoring system by the end of March 2018.
G-10 will be constructed in conformance with previously submitted work plans. The ground surface elevation at the G-
10 location is approximately 120 ft, NAVD. The projected elevation of groundwater is in my professional opinion
approximately -55 ft NAVD, which would make the depth to groundwater approximately 175 ft. With the installation of
a 20 -foot long screen the approximate depth of the well is approximately 195 ft. These hydrogeologic assumptions will
be confirmed in the field at the time of well installation by a geologist under my direct supervision. Any deviations will
be communicated to you.
Please accept this brief work plan for the commencement of the installation of new well G-10 at the North County
landfill in San Joaquin. Additional work plans will be submitted to you for approval for installation of the other two
monitoring wells. On a separate note, San Joaquin County requests the Water Board to rescind the prohibition from
placing waste in Cell 5B. San Joaquin County will submit a letter to the Water Board making this request for permission
to place waste in Cell 5B at the North County landfill.
Please call or email me or Taj Bahardori with any comments or questions. We respectfully await your approval of this
work plan.
(Formerly CB&I, Environmental and Infrastructure, Inc.)
Julian C.
