established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of commercial agriculture
enterprises."
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the Site Plan (Plate 2), one septic system is currently located on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
Delta Packing may build a new septic system for the expanded facility at some point in
the future; however, the current project does not include septic construction.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site addresses. Three permits were identified:
March 1973 permit for new septic system at mobile home (north of the packing
sheds). The system utilized a 1,200-gallon tank, an 80-foot leach line, and a
four- by eight- by ten-foot deep sump. The mobile home has since been
removed.
May 1979 permit for new commercial septic system at packing shed office. The
system utilized a 3,000-gallon tank, three 100-foot leach lines, and three 36-inch
diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits.
April 2010 permit for repair to existing septic system at packing shed. A 40-foot
leach line and four 36-inch diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits were added to
the existing system.
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 42 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located just east of the City of Lodi in a primarily agricultural region, with
some commercial facilities and rural residences present as well.
LOGE 20-33 Page 2
