GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING SERVICES PROPOSAL (Soils Report)
Geotechnical Report — New Single Family Residence
438 Cottage Ave,
Manteca, CA 95336
June 22, 2021 Page 2
occur. We have not budgeted to restore the site beyond backfilling our boreholes with cuttings, and
providing asphalt plugs. If there are any restrictions or special requirements regarding this site or
exploration, these should be known prior to commencing field work.
Our fee is based on the site being accessible to our two -wheel drive, truck -mounted drilling equipment
and CTE providing layout of the borings; additional costs may result if this is not the case. It does not
include services associated with site clearing, wet ground conditions, tree or shrub clearing, damage of
existing landscape or location of underground utilities beyond contacting U.S.A. If such conditions are
known to exist on the site, CTE should be notified so that we may adjust our scope of services and fee, if
necessary.
For safety purposes, all borings will be backfilled with cuttings immediately after their completion.
Because backfill material often settles below the surface after a period of time, we recommend the
asphalt plugs be checked periodically and sealed if necessary. We could provide this service at your
request, but this would involve additional cost.
CTE will mark the approximate boring locations on a map based on estimated distances from existing site
features. The locations should be considered accurate only to the degree implied by those methods. If
precise locations and/or elevations are desired, we suggest that the client retain a licensed surveyor to
stake the boring locations and provide the information.
Engineering Analysis and Report: The results of our field and laboratory programs will be evaluated by
one of CTE's professional Geotechnical Engineer's licensed in the State of California. It is our
understanding that existing site Geotechnical Engineering reports are unavailable. Based on the results of
our evaluation, an engineering report will be prepared that details the results of the testing performed,
provides logs of the borings, and a diagram of the site/boring layout. The report will include the following:
■ A description of the proposed project;
■ Computer generated boring logs with soil stratification based on visual soil classification;
■ A brief review of our test procedures and the results of testing conducted;
■ A summary of the area and site geologic conditions;
■ A description of the surface and subsurface site conditions encountered during the field
investigation;
■ Site preparation recommendations including stripping and possible special undercutting and/or
stabilization;
■ Suitability of on-site soils for use as structural fills;
■ Bearing value and soil design pressures;
■ Depth to groundwater, if encountered;
■ Backfill placement recommendations;
■ California Building Code (CBC) Seismic Conditions Site Classification;
■ Comments regarding potential liquefaction;
■ Boring logs including ground water level;
■ Recommendations for the type of foundation most suitable for soil conditions;
—' CAL.
