USE NEAR SCHOOLS No applications of Restricted Materials shall be made by air or ground within 660 feet of a school in session or when a school sponsored event is in progress. If the pesticide label or regulation requires a larger buffer area,the larger buffer shall apply. There will be no waiver of the required 24 hour Notice of Intent. l These conditions do not apply to the following ground applications: 1.Vertebrate pest control 2.Back-pack applications 3.Equipment where all nozzles are pointing down AND wind direction is periodically measured as moving away from the school site 4.Other GAC approved methods NOTE: The uses of soil fumigants and their corresponding buffer zones are covered by DPR suggested permit conditions or I by label. D Chlorpyrifos D Chlorpyrifos To help minimize bystander exposure and offsite movement of chlorpyrifos during applications and reduce runoff after applications. These conditions apply to products containing chlorpyrifos labeled for the production of an agricultural commodity. 1.Use the following minimum application setback distances for applications adjacent to sensitive sites as defined by the label or designated by the Commissioner: Application Method Minimum Setback Distance (ft) Ground Boom 25 Chemigation 25 Airblast 50 Aerial(Fixed wing or rotary) 150 The setback distance extends in all directions from the edge of the sensitive site to the edge of the treatment area. Setbacks are in effect only during the application. Do not apply this product if anyone is in the setback area. Exception; Handlers, and vehicles and persons riding bicycles passing through the setback area on public or private roadways are permitted. 2.All applications must take place with a minimum wind speed of 3 mph and not more than 10 mph as measured at a height of four feet above the ground. 3.For airblast applications: -Spray the outside crop row from outside in, directing the spray into the treatment area and shutting off nozzles on the side of the sprayer away from the treatment area. -Shut off top nozzles when treating smaller trees, vines, or bushes to minimize spray movement above the canopy. 4.APPLICATION CONDITIONS TO PROTECT SURFACE WATER Incorporate or clean-up granules that are spilled during loading or are visible on the soil surface in turn areas.
