POLICY/PROCEDURE: SM 2.0.03 <br /> TOPIC: EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN <br /> 4.11 The Emergency Preparedness Plan will be implemented to assess patients'needs in their particular area. <br /> 4.12 If substantial structural damage has occurred,the Administrator and/or Department Directors will <br /> immediately assess whether supplies and equipment can be moved to another area so the departments can <br /> remain operational. <br /> 4.13 If it is determined operations cannot be maintained within the facility's structure: <br /> 4.13.01 The Department Directors or designees will attempt to coordinate for Western Drug Medical <br /> Supply's patients to be cared for per their established departmental plans. <br /> 4.14.02 Reciprocity arrangements,to be implemented in the event of a community-wide disaster,have been <br /> made with"a Leaper Brothers,Inc."whereby employees upon arrival at the other's facility with <br /> patient charts,can work alongside the other agency's employees utilizing the unaffected agency's <br /> equipment,facility,and employees,if necessary,to provide for carrying on with all services both <br /> agencies offer. <br /> FIRE PREVENTION PLAN: <br /> 1.0 An annual fire inspection will be made by the local fire department. <br /> 2.0 An annual fire and safety in-service will be presented to all staff:This will include basic instruction on the use of fire <br /> extinguishers <br /> 3.0 An annual fire extinguisher inspection will be provided by the fire extinguisher vendor within the facility. <br /> 4.0 Western Drug Medical Supply will conduct once a year fire drills to be followed up with an immediate evaluation by <br /> all personnel. <br /> 5.0 A no smoking policy will be strictly enforced within the facility. <br /> 6.0 A safety assessment by the Safety Officer will be conducted monthly to observe and inspect for potential safety <br /> infractions/fire hazards within the facility <br /> FIRE AND EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLAN: <br /> 1.0 Call9ll. <br /> 2.0 If the fire is small and confined,attempt to put it out with a fire extinguisher. <br /> 3.0 If the fire is not small or confined do not attempt to extinguish.Leave the building via nearest safe exit and proceed <br /> immediately and safely to the established meeting place:Across the street behind the Forest Lawn Sim. <br /> For Stockton area the closest Burger King(4608 Waterloo St.,)location is where personnel will congregate. <br /> 3.01 If Western Drug Medical Supply delivery vehicles can be moved safely without creating hazard to van <br /> drivers they will be moved to a nearby"safe"location so as to avoid preventing the fire fighters immediate <br /> access to the facility and the destruction to vehicles. <br /> 4.0 In the event of other emergencies,follow directions for evacuation from local authorities. <br />
