Mobile or Portable Oil Storage Containers -112.8 (c)(11) 01
The drums and totes at this facility are located within buildings or containment areas. A
release from one or more of these containers would be quickly cleaned up. A catastrophic
release from several of these containers would flow to the oil/water separator located in the
lower level of the facility.
Transfer Operations, Pumping, and Facility Processes -40 CFR Part 112.8(d)
Buried Piping -112.8 (d)(1)
There are no buried pipes at the facility that contain/handle oils. The following belowgrade
transfer conduits are in place at the facility, but do not meet the buried pipe definition since
they are for the wastewater treatment system: concrete lined, as well as brick and mortar
lined open trenches, that lead to the oil/water separator.
Pipelines Not In Service -112.8 (d)(2)
When piping is not in service or on standby service for an extended period (over 3 months),
the terminal connection at the transfer point will be capped or blank flanged and marked as to
their origin.
Pipeline Supports -112.8 (d)(3)
Oil pipe supports are designed to minimize abrasion and corrosion and allow for expansion
and contraction.
Pipeline Inspections -112.8 (d)(4)
Aboveground oil pipelines and valves are examined monthly to assess the general condition
of flange joints, expansion joints, catch pans, pipeline supports, and locking of valves.
Written records of these inspections are kept on file with this Plan (see Appendix C for
Inspection Forms).
Warning Signs -112.8 (d)(5)
Some of the ASTs are located indoors out of the harm of vehicles that may endanger the
integrity of these oil storage containers. Therefore, there are no warning signs posted in the
vicinity of the indoor ASTs. The outdoor ASTs are located within containment berms with
concrete block walls out of the path of vehicle traffic. In addition, the transformers are
located behind locked fences. Therefore, vehicular traffic should not jeopardize the outdoor
ASTs or the transformers and warning signs are not necessary.
35 Pvlav 2017,4iig-b
