HEALTI-I Dc?AR i HENT <br />Item 4Q1: CCR 66265.171 Failed to store hazardous waste in a container that is in good <br />condition. <br />Seven -55g drums ofgrit blast were seen stared outside on pallets. At the bottom ofthe rusty <br />metal containers was caked grit blast. The grit blast was also seen on the ground around the <br />pallets. Hazardous waste shall be stored in a container that are in good condition. <br />Immediately transfer all hazardous wastes into containers that are in good condition or have <br />hazardous wastes properly disposed of by a licensed hazardous waste hauler under a proper <br />manifest. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br />Owens' Response/Corrective Action: <br />The area has been cleaned up and the grit blast material was placed into new t,vU1�. '<U�CA-e� <br />containers. The old, empty containers were sent offsite as scrap metal. "IW"- wu*�q. <br />Item 403: CCR 66265.173 Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when <br />adding or removing hazardous waste. <br />-Eight-white tote bags of hazardous waste (chromium, lead, seleniumj were seen open, or <br />haphazardly closed. <br />-One-15-20g black drum of MEK was open. <br />One 55g drum of oily contaminated debris nearthe vehicle maintenance area. <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing <br />waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are <br />closed when not adding or removing waste. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br />Owens' Response/Corrective Action: <br />These containers were sealed the same day. Employees have been reminded <br />of the importance of keeping waste containers closed. <br />Item 407: CCR 66261.7ff) Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or <br />managed within oneyear of being emptied. <br />At time of inspection, the following empty containers which previously held a hazardous <br />material were seen: <br />one 55 gallon white poly drum labeled ChemTreat CL -2150 <br />one 55 gallon blue poly drum labeled CL -2212 <br />0 <br />
