P/CK-n-PULL <br />As part of this new application for the Facility, a planned description of the Facility's ability to <br />properly remove and manage MRSH is provided below. The description includes types of <br />MRSH found in appliances received, the planned MRSH removal process onsite and material <br />storage and disposal processes, the health and safety procedures in place, and the program <br />training provided. <br />Facility Management of MRSH <br />General Knowl¢dge Information: The most common types of major appliances the Facility <br />could receive that may contain MRSH include: washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, air <br />conditioning units, stoves, ovens, and water heaters. Other Types of MRSH-containing <br />appliances [hat may be received by the Facility include: space heaters, furnaces, boilers, <br />dehumidifiers, trash compactors, and microwaves. The most common types o£ MASH found in <br />appliances that could be received by the Facility are refrigerants (chlorofluorocarbon, <br />hydrochlorofluorocabrons, and non -CFC replacement refrigerant types) and oils (Polycfilorinated <br />biphenyl, halogenated, and non -halogenated oils) typically found in capacitors and compressors_ <br />Other MRSH materials that may be found in appliances include: mercury switches, batteries, and <br />fluorescent bulbs. <br />The Facility will verify whether appliances received have been removed of MRSH onsite from <br />contracted national private companies, by reviewing and accepting a copy oFDTSC Form 1430, <br />which certifies the appliances have been removed of MRSH. Howeveq it is expected that the <br />Facility will need to complete the DTSC Form 1430 for each appliance delivered to the site. On <br />the rare occasion that appliance delivery is accompanied by an Orphan Waste Form (DTSC Form <br />1459), it will be accepted upon inspection and verification that MRSH that may not have been <br />removed from the appliance. [f the Facility is able to properly remove the MRSH from the <br />appliance thru a qualified contractor, it will be processed as an appliance that contains MRSH. <br />Otherwise, the appliance will be recorded and reported to DTSC as to why the MRSH could not <br />be safely and properly removed and managed as an "Orphan' appliance. The Facility will also <br />submit a monthly report to DTSC (Form 1468) and the local CUPA containing the following <br />information: <br />- The name and address of the person who transported, delivered, or sold the appliance to the <br />Facility, <br />- The total number of "orphan" appliances received by the Facility. _ <br />All associated records will be maintained offsite at the Stockton Main facility for a minimum of <br />3 years. <br />CAR [nit:el Stockton Premier 202 L0>.16. <br />
