P/CK-n-p�/LL Appliances that still contain MRSH are segregated From MRSH-free appliances and other scrap metals at the former Customer and Production Yard area, until they are processed properly for MRSH removal, and then recycled as scrap metal and shipped offsite. Removal Process: Appliances that contain MRSH are stored in the designated appliance processing area located at the former Customer and Production Yard of the Facility_ MASH are removed from the appliances by a qualified contractor that is properly licensed to handle MRSH. The contractor proposed is Campos Bros. Recovery Inc. (CAR Certificate No. 0531), who currently manager MRSH for other Pick -n -Pull sites. The contractor provides their own equipment and tools to properly remove refrigerants, mercury switches, oil-FIIed compressors, capacitors and transmissions from the appliances. Oils from transmissions and compressors are drained into appropriate Department of Transportation rated containers, such as 55 -gallon drums_ The contractor recycles the refrigerant removed @ora the appliances and leaves the remaining MRSH materials onsite for the Facility to properly dispose of. Once an appliance has been removed of MRSH, the appliance will be marked that it has been properly processed_ Processed appliances are then segregated or moved directly to the designated scrap metal storage pile for scrap metal recycling. The contractor will provide a summary of quantity and type of appliances processed, and quantities and types of MRSH removed with their routine invoices submitted. Records provided to the Facility and will be stored at the Stockton Main Facility for a minimum of three years. Storage: All MRSH generated onsite will be properly handled, stored, and disposed of offsite in accordance with all applicable hazardous waste and hazardous material regulations. Refrigerants removed from appliances by the contractor will not be stored onsite as they will be taken directly by the contractor upon removal for offsite recycling. All other MASH removed from the appliances will be stored by type in their respective proper storage containers located in the hazardous waste storage area inside the former Warehouse building. MRSH that meet the definition of a hazardous waste will be labeled as hazardous wastes in accordance with applicable regulations_ MRSH that will be managed as hazardous wastes include drained oils (halogenated and non -halogenated), and oil -Filled capacitors (PCB and non -PCB containing), which will be stored in 55 -gallon drums provided with lids that will be kept closed at all times to minimize risk of spills, and on secondary containment at the hazardous waste storage area. Drained oils, PCB containing materials, and oil -£lied capacitors will be disposed of when their storage containers are Filed, but no more than 90 days From their respective accumulation start dates. MRSH that can be managed as a Universal Waste include mercury switches, fluorescent bulbs, and batteries. Storage containers of these waste types are provided with Universal Waste labels. Mercury switches are stored in small buckets or larger drums provided with lids that are kept closed at all times to minimize risk of spills.
