GENERAL NOTES <br />The water feature mechanical and electrical Drawings are diagrammatic, <br />intended mainly to indicate the scope of the work to be done. Equipment and <br />material locations may be distorted for clarity in presentation. <br />Questions pertaining to work that does not appear to be sufficiently detailed or <br />explained, or pertaining to the true meaning of a part of the Drawings or <br />Specifications, or discrepancies found existing in or between the Specifications <br />and Drawings, shall be referred to the Architect for clarification. <br />Item numbers correspond to the bill of materials and shall be furnished by the <br />equipment manufacturer. The Installer shall furnish other materials, labor, tools, <br />equipment, apparatus, and services, which are required to complete the <br />installation of the water feature system. <br />MECHANICAL <br />1. Piping located within a pool basin, and stub -ups through a pool floor or walls <br />of a basin, shall be of red brass pipe or Type K copper tubing of full hard <br />temper. <br />2. Installer shall supply waterstop protection for piping penetrating pool floor or <br />walls and for fittings cast therein. <br />3. Interconnecting pipe and fittings between the pool basin and the pump <br />equipment room shall be of copper, PVC, or fiberglass, as noted in the <br />Specifications. <br />4. Pressurized city water lines supplying the water feature system shall be of <br />copper and shall be protected by a backflow prevention device and pressure <br />reduction valve set at 50 psi maximum. <br />5. Piping runs shall be made as direct as possible using the minimum number of <br />fittings. Pipe shall slope to the pump for drainage and shall be free of air <br />traps or loops, which could trap, water or air. <br />6. Pump suction intake and suction piping shall be routed to an elevation below <br />the water level of the lowest basin so that both the pump and the suction <br />piping are completely flooded when the water feature system is filled. <br />7. Piping shall be pressure tested prior to back -filling as noted in the <br />Specifications, and shall be buried and supported as noted in the <br />Specifications. <br />8. Installer shall provide drainage and ventilation in the pump room in order to <br />prevent flooding, condensation, or overheating of equipment, as noted in the <br />Specifications. <br />9.
