Nitrate Loading Analysis BSK Job E21-002-01B
2482 Carpenter Road July 13, 2021
Stockton, California P a g e | 1

1. INTRODUCTION

On behalf of AECOM, BSK Associates (BSK) prepared this Nitrate Loading Study Report (Report) for the
proposed leach line area at the site located at 2482 Carpenter Road in Stockton, California, within San
Joaquin County Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) 179-140-180-000. The Nitrate Loading Study was
conducted pursuant to the San Joaquin County Onsite Systems Manual (Onsite Manual) (San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department, 2017) based on the requirement from San Joaquin
Environmental Health Department. The Nitrate Loading Study was prepared using publicly available data
collected by BSK and Site-specific data that were provided to BSK by AECOM. This Report summarizes
background information regarding the site and surrounding area, climatic data, associated groundwater
sample analytical results and monitoring data, and the nitrate loading calculations based on the
aforementioned data.

This Report includes a Site Vicinity Map and Site Septic Map (Figure 1A and 1B) and a Groundwater
Contour Map (Figure 2) based on publicly available data collected from the California Department of
Water Resources Groundwater Information Center Interactive Map Application. Appendix A presents
climate data published by the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for
Stockton Airport Station 2.2 W, CA US US1CAKN0003. Appendix B provides plan schematics for the
buildings and the proposed septic system provided by AECOM. Appendix C contains the soil description
for the Jacktone Clay soil from the USDA Web Soil Survey. Appendix D contains water quality data from
a United States Geologic Survey (USGS) well - Site Number: 375545121141601 Site Name:
001N007E17N001M.

This Report presents general site information, identifies data used in the nitrate loading analysis and data
gaps, discusses assumptions used in the nitrate loading analysis with data qualifications, and presents
findings, conclusions, and limitations.

1.1 Site and Surrounding Area

The site is located South of Carpenter Road and approximately 500 feet east of Pock Road at 2482
Carpenter Road in Stockton, California (Figure 1A). The nitrate loading study is focused on the northern
half of parcel APN: 179-140-180-000, where the leach line field is being proposed. The proposed leach
line field is comprised of two areas that are 70 ft wide by 120 ft long (Figure 1B). The site is currently split
approximately in half with the northern section being occupied by three buildings being used as an Adult
Care Facility and the southern section is an undeveloped field. The site is planned to have a new septic
system installed on the northeastern edge of the site for the three existing buildings while a planned
electrical substation is proposed to be constructed on the southern portion of the site. Based on an email
with Andrew Agopian from AECOM on February 25, 2021, the Adult facility has approximately 28 people
including staff that occupy the three buildings.
