PLUMBING PIPING SYSTEMS <br />Section 15400 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. This section includes piping and supports as required for the plumbing system. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Manufacturer's Qualifications: Firms regularly engaged in manufacturer of plumbing <br />piping systems products, of types, materials, and sizes required whose products have <br />been in satisfactory use in similar service for not less than 5 years. <br />B. Contractor's Qualifications: Firm with at least 5 years of successful installation <br />experience on projects with piping systems work similar to that required of project. <br />C. Requirements of Regulatory Agencies: Contractor to conform to the publications listed <br />below. Requirements of these publications are to be considered as a minimum <br />standard. If details and specifications which require more stringent work are indicated <br />within project, Contractor to provide the more stringent. <br />1. California Plumbing Code (CPC) Compliance: Comply with applicable portions of <br />the California Plumbing Code pertaining to selection and installation of plumbing <br />materials and products. Fabricate and install natural gas systems in accordance <br />with CPC. <br />2. ANSI Compliance: Fabricate and install natural gas piping in accordance with <br />ANSI B21.2, Fuel Gas Piping. <br />3. NFPA Compliance: Fabricate and install natural gas systems in accordance with <br />latest edition of NFPA 54, National Fuel Gas Code. <br />4. Utility Compliance: Fabricate and install natural gas systems in accordance with <br />local gas utility company requirements. <br />D. Welding materials and labor shall comply with ASME Code and applicable state labor <br />regulations. <br />E. Welders shall be fully qualified and certified b a state approved welding bureau for the <br />types of welds required for the project. <br />1. Each welder shall identify their work with a marking stamped on each weld joint <br />of pipe, valve, or fitting. <br />F. Supports to be in accordance with SMACNA's Seismic Restraint Manual Second Edition <br />1998. <br />G. All plumbing components intended to dispense water for human consumption shall <br />comply with requirements of California Assembly Bill AB1953. Components to include <br />(but not limited to): piping, faucets, angle stops, valves, bubblers, drinking fountains, <br />piping, etc. <br />
