PLUMBING PIPING SYSTEMS <br />Section 15400 <br />15-1207 <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit manufacturer's catalog cut sheets, specifications, installation instructions, and <br />dimensioned drawings for each type of pipe, support, anchor, and seal indicated within <br />this section that is applicable to the project. Clearly indicate item being submitted. <br />1. Indicate pipe schedules, pressure classes, etc. <br />2. Indicate all options being submitted. <br />B. Provide Welding and Brazing Certifications. Submit reports as required for piping work <br />applicable to the project. <br />1. Welders that do not have current Certifications shall not be permitted to weld <br />and/or braze on the project. <br />PART 2 — GENERAL <br />2.01 GENERAL: <br />A. Provide piping materials and factory fabricated piping products of sizes, types, pressure <br />and temperature ratings, and capacities as indicated. Materials and products to comply <br />with the California Plumbing Code. <br />B. Where more than one type of material is indicated, selection is the Contractors option. <br />1. Contractor to provide submittal information on material which is to be installed. <br />2. Where more than one material is indicated, the Contractor shall only install one <br />material per system and materials shall not be mixed within the same system. <br />C. Malleable Iron Threaded Fittings: ANSI 816.3; plain or galvanized to suit piping. For <br />use above grade only, except where indicated otherwise. <br />D. Malleable -Iron Threaded Unions: ANSI 1316.39; selected by Contractor for proper piping <br />fabrication and service requirements, including style, end connections, and metal -to - <br />metal seats (iron, bronze, or brass); plain or galvanized as indicated. <br />E. Forged -Steel Socket Welding and Threaded Fittings: ANSI B16.11, except MSS SP -79 <br />for threaded reducer inserts; rated to match schedule of connected pipe. <br />F. Wrought -Steel Buttwelding Fittings: ANSI B16.9, except ANSI B16.28 for short -radius <br />elbows and returns; rated to match connected pipe. <br />G. Pipe Nipples: Fabricated from same pipe as used for connected pipe; except do not use <br />less than Schedule 80 pipe where length remaining unthreaded is less than 1-1/2 inches <br />and where pipe size is less than 1-1/2 inches, and do not thread nipples full length (no <br />close -nipples). <br />H. Welding Materials: Except as otherwise indicated, provide welding materials as <br />determined by Contractor to comply with installation requirements. Comply with Section <br />11, Part C, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for welding materials. <br />2 <br />
