Install pipe escutcheons on each pipe penetration through floors, walls, partitions, and <br />ceilings where penetration is exposed to view and on exterior of building. <br />B. Tighten escutcheon to pipe or insulation so escutcheon covers penetration hole and is flush <br />with adjoining surface. <br />3.03 SLEEVES: <br />A. Secure sleeves to metal or wood forms in such a manner that they will not become <br />displaced during pouring of concrete. Fill sleeves on deck with sand. <br />B. After forms have been removed from concrete, the sleeves shall be removed from the <br />openings. <br />C. Core drill properly sized holes in the concrete to replace metal sleeves that are crushed or <br />knocked out of position during pouring of concrete. <br />D. Provide piping passing through concrete fire walls with sleeves of standard black steel pipe <br />nominally one size larger than pipe enclosed, but in the case of insulated pipe, large enough <br />for insulation to pass through. Caulk space between pipe and sleeve with fire -rated wicking, <br />and provide metal retainer plates at both sides of the wall. <br />E. Sleeve Seals: Install in accordance with the following: <br />1. Lead and Oakum: Fill and pack annular space between sleeve opening and pipe <br />with oakum; caulk with lead on both sides. <br />2. Mechanical Sleeve Seals: Loosely assemble rubber links around pipe with bolts and <br />pressure plates located under each bolt head and nut. Push into sleeve opening and <br />center. Tighten bolts until links have expanded to form watertight seal. <br />12 <br />
