PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONING UNITS <br />Section 15855 <br />15-1207 <br />2. Curb Heights: <br />a. Contractor to coordinate required height of curbs with sloped roof insulation. Curb <br />heights to vary as required. <br />b. Lower curb height shall be sized as required by adjacent sloped roof insulation. <br />• Curb shall be provided with a minimum of 8" between adjacent rigid insulation <br />and top of lower curb. <br />• Curb shall be provided with a maximum of 12" between adjacent rigid insulation <br />and top of lower curb. <br />C. Reference mounting details for additional requirements. <br />2.06 CONDENSATE DRAINS: <br />A. Provide type -L, hard -drawn copper tubing with wrought copper solder joint fittings; no iron -to - <br />copper connections; copper fittings with IPS outlets and threaded brass nipples at connections <br />to equipment; di -electric couplings or unions at connections to dissimilar materials. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL: <br />A. Examine areas and conditions under which air conditioning units are to be installed. Do not <br />proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br />B. Warranty: <br />1. Unit manufacturer shall provide 2 year parts and labor warranty on entire unit including any <br />accessories provided for field installation on the unit. <br />2. This warranty period shall begin at upon signoff of substantial completion of the project. <br />3. Unit manufacturer shall provide 5 year compressor parts warranty and limited 10 year heat <br />exchanger parts warranty. <br />C. Maintenance: <br />1. Equipment supplier shall perform the scheduled maintenance as detailed in the published <br />maintenance manuals for the packaged air conditioning units for a period of 1 year upon <br />startup of the units. <br />2. All Preventative maintenance procedures shall be adhered to, including required periodic <br />inspections as prescribed in the manufacturer's published operations and maintenance <br />literature. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION OF AIR CONDITIONING UNITS: <br />A. Install air conditioning units where indicated in accordance with equipment manufacturer's <br />written instructions and with recognized industry practices to ensure that units comply with <br />requirements and serve intended purposes. <br />3.03 TESTING AND STARTUP: <br />A. Equipment manufacturer's commercial and industrial local service company shall conduct <br />check, test, and start-up of units and shall complete one startup form for each unit listing the <br />refrigerant suction line pressure and temperature, liquid line pressure and temperature, charge <br />1.3 <br />
