PACKAGED AIR CONDITIONING <br />UNITS <br />Section 15855 <br />15-1207 <br />7. Capable of controlling remove sensors <br />8. API for 3RD party monitor and control <br />9. Thermostat to be Title 24 compliant. <br />B. Control wiring: <br />1. Install control wiring between AC Unit and Thermostat in conduit. Conduit shall be electric <br />metallic tubing (EMT) and shall be thin wall galvanized steel. Connectors shall be steel rain <br />tight compression type fittings with insulated throat. Couplins shall be steel rain tight <br />compression type fittings. Set screw type fittings shall not be used. <br />2. Control wiring to be 8 -wire thermostat cable as required by thermostat manufacturer. <br />2.05 EQUIPMENT MOUNTING: <br />A. Where noted, provide standard roof curb as follows: <br />1. Furnish and install a steel roof -mounting frame for bottom discharge and return air duct <br />connection, where noted on Drawings. It shall mate to the bottom perimeter of the <br />equipment. When flashed into the roof, it shall make a unit mounting curb and provide <br />weatherproof duct connection and entry into the conditioned area. Flashing shall be the <br />responsibility of Roofing Contractor. Fourteen inch high frame unless noted otherwise. <br />B. Where noted, provide spring isolation curb. Isolation curb to be as follows: <br />1. Isolation curbs to be Mason Industries, Inc. Type ISC Curb. <br />a. Curbs shall consist of continuous sheet metal frames above and below isolators. <br />b. Curbs to be 16 gauge minimum. <br />C. Spring isolators shall be selected for 2.0" deflection. <br />d. Isolators shall be adjustable, free-standing and laterally stable and include a 1/4 inch <br />acoustical neoprene cup and leveling bolt. <br />e. Spring diameters shall be no less than 0.8 of the compressed height of the spring at <br />the rated load with 50% additional travel to solid. <br />f. Seismic snubbers with an all directional neoprene bushing and Y4" air gap shall be <br />incorporated into each corner. <br />g. A continuous sheet metal flashing shall be attached to the upper frame and be <br />separated from the lower frame by a neoprene weatherseal. The sheet metal flashing <br />shall incorporate removable cover plates for adjustment and inspection of isolators <br />after the unit is set. <br />h. The unit must be solidly fastened to the top steel frame and the lower sheet metal curb <br />must be attached to the roof structure. <br />i. Curb shall have an anchorage pre -approval number (OPA number) from OSHPD in <br />the state of California attesting to the maximum certified horizontal and vertical load <br />ratings. <br />• Curbs without a pre -approved OPA number shall not be considered. <br />• Pre -approval must include the entire curb assembly and not be limited to the <br />vibration isolators. The preapproval must also have been obtained by full-scale <br />seismic testing of the full curb assembly. Isolation curbs without preapproval of <br />the entire curb assembly based on full scale seismic testing will not be <br />considered and will not be reviewed. <br />7 <br />
