DUCTLESS SPLIT SYSTEM <br />AC UNITS <br />Section 15865 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 —GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. This section provides requirements for single zone Ductless Split System Air <br />Conditioning Units. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. The units shall be tested by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and <br />shall bear the ETL label. <br />B. All wiring shall be in accordance with the California Electrical Code (C.E.C.). <br />C. The units shall be rated in accordance with Air-conditioning Refrigeration Institute's (ARI) <br />Standard 210 and bear the ARI Certification label <br />D. The units shall be manufactured in a facility registered to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, <br />which is a set of standards applying to environmental protection set by the International <br />Standard Organization (ISO). <br />E. Flame -Smoke Ratings: Except as otherwise indicated, provide thermal insulation with <br />flame -spread index of 25 or less, fuel- contributed index of 50 or less, and <br />smoke -developed index of 50 or less. <br />F. AMCA Standards: Comply with Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) <br />Standards as applicable to testing and rating fans. <br />G. SMACNA Compliance: Comply with Sheet metal and Air -Conditioning Contractors <br />National Association (SMACNA) ductwork construction standards as applicable to split <br />system heat pumps. <br />H. UL Compliance: Provide electric components for split system heat pumps which have <br />been listed and labeled by Underwriters Laboratories or by a testing organization of <br />equal standing. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit the following information for each packaged unit: <br />1. Manufacturer's product data and cut sheet for each unit. <br />2. Submit manufacturer's specifications for air conditioning units showing <br />dimensions, weights, capacities, efficiency ratings, motor electrical <br />characteristics, gauges, finishes of materials, and installation instructions. <br />B. Maintenance Data: <br />1. Submit maintenance instructions, including lubrication instructions, filter <br />replacement, motor and drive replacement, and spare parts lists. <br />2. Include this data in maintenance manuals only. <br />
