DUCTWORK <br />Section 15890 <br />15-1207 <br />(1) Air dispersion accomplished by linear vent and permeable fabric. Linear vents <br />must be sized in 1 CFM per linear foot increments (based on .5" SP), starting <br />a 1 CFM through 90 CFM per linear foot. Linear vent is to consist of an array <br />of open orifices rather than a mesh style vent to reduce maintenance <br />requirements of mesh style vents. Linear vents should also be designed to <br />minimize dusting on fabric surface. <br />(2) Size of vent openings and location of linear vents to be specified and approved <br />by manufacturer. <br />(3) Manufacturer to provide analysis for full area coverage of Multipurpose Room. <br />3. Inlet connection to metal duct via fabric draw band with anchor patches as supplied by <br />manufacturer. Anchor patches to be secured to metal duct via. zip screw fastener — <br />supplied by contractor. <br />4. Inlet connection includes zipper for easy removal / maintenance. <br />5. Lengths to include required intermediate zippers as specified by manufacturer. <br />6. System to include Adjustable Flow Devices to balance turbulence, airflow and distribution as <br />needed. Flow restriction device shall include ability to adjust the airflow resistance from <br />0.06 — 0.60 in w.g. static pressure. <br />7. End cap includes zipper for easy maintenance. <br />8. Each section of the duct shall include identification labels documenting order number, <br />section diameter, section length, piece number, code certifications and other pertinent <br />information. <br />2.07 FLEXIBLE DUCTWORK: <br />A. Flexible ducts may be used in concealed areas where detailed and as specified. <br />B. Flexible ducts from rigid run -outs to registers shall be Flexmaster USA, Inc., Type 1 M <br />Acoustical Insulated flex duct, or equal. <br />A. Flexible ducts shall be as follows: <br />Minimum Operating Pressure: <br />a. Positive = 10" w.g. for all sizes <br />b. Negative = 5" w.g. for sizes thru 16" and 1" w.g. for sizes 18 & 20" <br />2. Rated Velocity = 5,500 FPM <br />3. Minimum Burst Pressure = 2 1/2 times working pressure <br />4. Minimum R Value = 6.0 (h * FT * °F) / BTU <br />5. Duct to be ETL Class 1 Air duct. <br />6. Flame spread to be less than 25 and smoke developed less than 50. <br />7. Flex duct to consist of an exterior reinforced metalized vapor barrier, fiberglass <br />insulation, mechanical lock wire helix, and polyethylene inner film. Inner liner to be <br />mechanically locked without adhesives. <br />8. Minimum Acoustical Performance shall be as follows: <br />11 <br />
