DUCTWORK <br />Section 15890 <br />15-1207 <br />C. Bends in flexible ductwork shall be kept to a minimum. When required, the minimum bend <br />radius shall be 1.5 times the duct diameter. Duct offsets to be limited to 45 degree turns. <br />3.04 CLEANING AND PROTECTION <br />A. Ductwork being stored on site to be covered and protected from elements. Internally lined <br />ductwork to be stored on jobsite in clean / dry location. Any insulation exposed to water <br />must be discarded immediately and removed from jobsite. <br />B. Clean ductwork internally, unit by unit as it is installed, of dust, dirt, and debris. <br />C. Clean external surfaces of dirt and foreign substances that might cause corrosive <br />deterioration of metal or where ductwork is to be painted. <br />D. Strip protective paper from stainless ductwork surfaces, and repair finish wherever it has <br />been damaged. <br />E. Temporary Closure: At ends of ducts which are not connected to equipment or air <br />distribution devices at time of ductwork installation, provide temporary closure of <br />polyethylene film or other covering which will prevent entrance of dust and debris until time <br />connections are to be completed. <br />F. If HVAC System is operated prior to the completion of construction, Contractor to provide <br />temporary filters at all return air and exhaust air grilles. Filters to be 2" thick, MERV 8 filters. <br />Contractor to secure filters in place with tape or wiring. Filters to completely cover grille <br />opening. <br />3.05 OPERATION TEST: <br />A. Test each piece of equipment to show that it will operate in accordance with indicated <br />requirements. <br />3.06 CLEANING UP: <br />A. Upon completion of Work remove materials, equipment, apparatus, and tools, and leave <br />premises clean, neat, and orderly. <br />END OF SECTION <br />11 <br />
