DUCT ACCESSORIES <br />Section 15910 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 —GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes requirements for the following duct accessories: <br />1. <br />Volume Control Dampers <br />2. <br />Air Inlets and Outlets <br />3. <br />Fire/Smoke Dampers <br />4. <br />Fire Dampers <br />5. <br />Turning Vanes <br />6. <br />Duct Access Doors <br />7. <br />Flexible Connections <br />B. For additional requirements, reference Section 01810 — Systems Commissioning. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. SMACNA Compliance: Comply with applicable portions of Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning <br />Contractor's National Association (SMACNA) HVAC Duct Construction Standards (Metal <br />and Flexible), latest edition, for all work in this section. <br />B. ASHRAE Standards: Comply with American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air <br />Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) recommendations, latest edition, for all work in this <br />section. <br />C. NFPA Compliance: Comply with ANSI/NFPA 90A, "Standard for the Installation of Air <br />Conditioning and Ventilating Systems," and ANSI/NFPA 9013, "Standard for the Installation <br />of Warm Air Heating and Air Conditioning Systems." <br />D. Compliance: Construct, test, install and label fire dampers and fire doors in accordance with <br />Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) Standard 555, "Fire Dampers and Ceiling Dampers." <br />E. The Diffuser, Register, Grille manufacturer shall provide published performance data for all <br />air inlets/outlets. Performance tests shall be tested in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE <br />Standard 70-1991. <br />F. Combination Fire smoke Dampers: <br />1. Manufacturer: Test and qualify with UL a complete range of damper sizes covering <br />dampers specified. Testing 1 size only is not acceptable. <br />2. Damper Capacity: Demonstrate damper capacity to open and close under HVAC <br />system operating conditions in accordance with UL 555S. <br />a. Closed Position: Maximum pressure of 4" w.g. <br />b. Open Position: Maximum air velocity of 3,000 feet per minute. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Product data: submit complete data of materials proposed including: <br />1. Manufacturer and model number <br />2. Clearly indicate all options, trim, and accessories. <br />3. Cross reference manufacturer's cut sheet to fixture callout ID on submittal sheet. <br />
