DUCT ACCESSORIES <br />Section 15910 <br />15-1207 <br />4. For displacement diffusers, Manufacturer (other than Basis of Design) shall provide a <br />CFD analysis of room. CFD analysis to be provided with submittal information. <br />B. Operation and Maintenance Data: submit complete O&M data including: <br />1. Maintenance data and parts lists for each type of fixture. <br />2. Provide "trouble- shooting" maintenance guide <br />3. Include this data within maintenance manual <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 VOLUME CONTROL DAMPERS: <br />A. General: <br />1. Provide dampers throughout the duct system where indicated on the drawings to <br />facilitate complete balancing. <br />2. Provide any dampers not shown on drawings but requested by Test and Balance <br />Contractor add no additional charge to the owner. <br />3. Locate volume control dampers within 18" of the branch duct take off. Dampers shall <br />not be located at or near the end of the duct branch run. <br />4. Provide for each damper quadrant lock device on one end of shaft and end -bearing <br />plate on other end. <br />a. Quadrant lock device to be Ventlock 641, or equal. <br />b. End bearing plate to be Ventlok 607, or equal. <br />5. Provide extended quadrant locks and extended bearing plates for externally <br />insulated ductwork. <br />B. Identification: <br />1. Provide 1" wide identification nylon ribbon for each damper with color as follows: <br />a. Supply air — Red <br />b. Return Air — Blue <br />C. Exhaust Air — Yellow <br />2. Tie identification ribbon through hole at each end of damper quadrant. Ribbons to <br />have a minimum of 12" of ribbon hanging free. Install ribbon at the time each <br />damper is installed. <br />C. Inaccessible Ceilings: <br />1. Where volume control dampers are located in inaccessible ceilings, or where noted <br />otherwise, furnish cable operated remote controlled volume damper. Reference <br />architectural drawings for locations of gypsum board ceilings. <br />2. Dampers are to be adjustable with standard tools at the ceiling line through a self <br />supporting 2" round Ceiling Cup. <br />3. Powder painted steel box cover plate shall be fastened with standard countersunk <br />(Option: tamperproof countersunk) screws providing a secure, unobtrusive <br />appearance flush with the ceiling surface. <br />4. Galvanized steel, square -shafted damper shall be worm gear actuated via a brass <br />plated rotary cable meeting Mil -spec 1-45208 and supported at the damper end by a <br />self lubricating bearing integral to the worm gear assembly. <br />5. Additional cable retainer supports shall be factory furnished as required by the cable <br />length. Rotary cable shall have a minimum torque service factor of 200% when <br />installed in accordance with manufacturer furnished instructions. <br />2 <br />
