Install duct accessories in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions with <br />applicable portions of details of construction as shown in SMACNA standards and in <br />accordance with recognized industry practices to ensure that products serve intended <br />function. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION OF VOLUME CONTROL DAMPERS: <br />A. Provide volume control dampers at all supply, return, and exhaust branch ductwork and <br />elsewhere where shown on the drawings. <br />B. Locate volume control dampers at or near branch take off. Volume Control dampers shall <br />not be located at the end of branch duct. <br />3.03 INSTALLATION OF AIR INLETS AND OUTLETS: <br />A. Locate ceiling air diffusers, registers, and grilles as indicated on general construction <br />"Reflected Ceiling Plans." Unless otherwise indicated, locate units in center of acoustical <br />ceiling modules. <br />B. Install outlets and inlets in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions and in <br />accordance with recognized industry practices to ensure that products serve intended <br />functions. <br />C. Examine areas and conditions under which outlets and inlets are to be installed. Do not <br />proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br />D. Ceiling -mounted air terminals or services shall be positively attached to the ceiling <br />suspension main runners or to cross runners with the same carrying capacity as the main <br />runners. <br />E. Terminals or services weighing 56 pounds or less shall have two No. 12 gauge hangers <br />connected from the terminal or service to the structure above. These wires may be slack. <br />F. Terminals or services weighing more than 56 pounds shall be supported directly from the <br />structure above by approved hangers. <br />9 <br />
