IDENTIFICATION FOR <br />ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS <br />Section 16010 <br />15-1207 <br />2. Install label for identification of individual control device stations, <br />receptacles and switches. <br />3. Locate the top of label 1/2 inch below the top edge of coverplates. <br />4. Install label for multi -outlet assembly receptacles. <br />5. Install labels for permanent adhesion. <br />F. Wire Marker Installation: <br />1. Install wire marker for each conductor at panelboard gutters, pull boxes, <br />outlet and junction boxes, each load connection. <br />2. Provide colored plastic phase tape in half -lapped turns for a distance of 3 <br />inches from terminal points and in boxes where splices or taps are made. <br />G. Junction box identification: <br />1. Color code and identify all junction boxes located above suspended <br />ceilings and below ceilings in non-public areas. <br />2. Use finish paint suitable for use on metal surfaces. <br />3. Boxes shall be identified with permanent felt tip marker on cover <br />indicating panel and circuit numbers. Paint junction box covers using the <br />color coding listed below. <br />a. 480/277 Volt System: Orange. <br />b. 208/120 Volt System: Blue. <br />C. Fire Alarm System: Red. <br />d. Security System: Green. <br />H. Conduit Marker Installation: <br />1. Install conduit marker for each conduit longer than 6 feet. <br />2. Conduit Marker Spacing: 20 feet on center. <br />3. Raceway Painting: Identify conduit using field painting in accordance with <br />Section 09 90 00. <br />a. Paint colored band on each conduit longer than 6 feet. <br />b. Paint bands 20 feet on center. <br />C. Color: <br />1) 480 Volt System: Orange. <br />2) 208 Volt System: Blue. <br />3.3 UNDERGROUND WARNING TAPE: <br />A. Install underground warning tape along length of each underground conduit, <br />raceway, or cable 6 to 8 inches below finished grade, directly above buried <br />conduit, raceway, or cable. <br />3.4 WARNING, CAUTION AND INSTRUCTION SIGNS <br />A. Provide warning, caution or instruction signs where required by OSHA, where <br />indicated, or where reasonably required to assure safe operation and <br />maintenance of electrical systems. <br />
