INSULATED CONDUCTORS <br />Section 16070 <br />15-1207 <br />seventy five degrees (750) C. conductor temperature, type THHN-THWN or equal and <br />ninety degrees (901) C. conductor temperature, type XHHW or equal. Wire sizes No. 10 <br />AWG and smaller may be solid copper. <br />2. Minimum Wire Size: No. 12 unless otherwise shown or otherwise stated herein. <br />3. Factory color code with separate color for each phase and neutral used consistently <br />through system. Isolated grounding conductor shall be green with one yellow stripe. <br />Phases A B C <br />N G <br />208/120 volts: Black Red Blue <br />White Green <br />480/277 volts: Brown Orange Yellow <br />White/Grey Green <br />B. Metal -Clad cable (Type MC): MC Cable shall be a factory assembly of one or more conductors, <br />each individually insulated and all enclosed in a common galvanized steel armor sheath of <br />interlocking metal tape or a smooth or corrugated tube and manufactured in accordance with <br />the C.E.0 Article 334. Each interlocked armor MC cable shall consist of an overall metal <br />sheath, overall cable tape, marker tape, copper conductors with insulation rated at 600 volts <br />and ninety degrees (900) C. temperature rating (type THHN-THWN) and equipment grounding <br />conductor. AFC cable systems or equal. <br />C. Termination Lugs and Tools: <br />1. Terminal lugs: Square D Co., Thomas and Betts, or equal. <br />2. Terminal lugs for wire sizes from No. 18 to No. 10 AWG: Ring tongue funnel entry, pre - <br />insulated with vinyl. <br />3. Terminal lugs for wire sizes from No. 8 and larger: Compression connectors T&B series <br />54000ti <br />, LVVo-hole long barrel lugs or equal. Bolting pad i -plated for low contact <br />resistance. Use Belleville compression washers when ambient temperature exceeds <br />thirty degrees (300) C.; T&B series 60800 or equal. <br />4. Terminating tools: Hexagonal or circumferential type with coding systems for inspection <br />purposes. <br />5. Reducing Adapters for Copper Cables: Burndy, Mac Products, Inc., or equal. <br />D. Plastic Tape: F.S. HH -1-595. <br />E.
