LABLING SCHEME, NAMING <br />CONVENTION & RACK ELEVATION <br />Section 16761 <br />15-1207 <br />network enclosure and cabinet should be labeled with FRAME#. <br />2. See Table 1 for labeling scheme. <br />3.1 FIBER IDENTIFICATION <br />A. Inside the fiber panel, the first 12 strand coupler should terminate to IDF1, the second 12 <br />strand coupler should terminate to IDF2, and continue in numerical order. <br />B. The coupler should be labeled with the frame# to identify the far end. <br />C. The coupler should be labeled to identify the strands pairs for each frame. <br />D. The fiber patch cable that connects from the Fiber LIU coupler identified as IDF1 should <br />physically connect to the network switch port 1 and proceed in numerical order in the same <br />manner. <br />E. See Table 1 for labeling scheme. <br />3.2 PATCH PANEL AND STATION JACK IDENTIFICATION <br />A. Patch panels and station jacks should be labeled with Frame# and port#. <br />B. See Table 2 for examples. <br />3.3 NETWORK EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION <br />A. All network equipment should be physically and logically labeled. The naming convention <br />should following with SITE -FRAME -Location -Equipment Function. See Table 4 for equipment <br />function abbreviations. <br />B. All MUSD sites have a 3 letter abbreviation to represent the name of the administration <br />offices and school sites. See Table 5 for the sites abbreviation. <br />3.4 PROCEDURE <br />A. Upon completion of IT related services performed by contractor shall be reviewed by IT <br />personnel. <br />B. IT personnel shall be accompanied by contractor to review work performed and to ensure <br />work has been completed according to scope or specification. <br />C. If work has not been completed to the satisfaction of the scope or specification, the contractor <br />shall develop a punch list detailing those items that did not meet the requirements of Manteca <br />Unified School District IT Department. The punch list shall be in an electronic format and <br />shared with the IT Department. <br />D. Contractor shall complete all punch list items identified during IT and contractor's walk <br />through. The contractor shall update the electronic version of the completed items and share <br />with the IT department. <br />2 <br />
