VOICE OVER IP CALLER ID <br />NAMING CONVENTION <br />Section 16762 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.0 PURPOSE <br />A. The purpose of this document is to provide a standard naming convention that applies to VolP <br />caller -id. <br />B. This document explains the criteria that should be used when creating and changing phone <br />accounts and assigning caller -id for staff members and site physical locations or room numbers. <br />2.0 SCOPE <br />A. Every MUSD employee, including substitutes, are assigned telephone extensions. These <br />extensions are assigned from a pool of MUSD Directory Numbers (DN). <br />1. For a list of MUSD directory numbers, see attached Appendix A. MUSD Site Directory <br />Numbers. <br />B. When creating user's phone account. The user's name should be extracted from Microsoft <br />Exchange Active Directory using first and last names. Their first and last names should also <br />reflect on their incoming and outgoing caller-id.User. <br />1. Example: Dave Snitchler <br />C. When creating physical location phone accounts. The caller -id extension of the physical <br />location should be identified with site's 3 letter acronym and room description or number. <br />1. Site acronyms are listed on Appendix A. MUSD Site Directory Numbers. <br />2. See Table 1 for physical site locations examples. <br />D. Teachers' extension are only associated with their email and voicemail account. Their <br />extensions are not associated to a physical phone or a specific site location. Their extensions <br />can be found in the Corporate Directory and Global Address Book by searching for first and last <br />name. <br />Table 1.
