MULTI-PURPOSE SOUND SYSTEM <br />Section 16780 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 CONDITIONS: <br />A. This section is valid only when considered in total with all other Contract Documents. <br />References are for the convenience of the reader and their inclusion in or omission from <br />any Section in no way limits its scope or intent of any Contract Document. <br />1.2 WORK INCLUDED: <br />A. Description: Provide all materials, engineering, and labor required to provide a <br />complete and fully operational Sound System as described on the Drawings and in <br />these Specifications. This work shall include the furnishing, installation, assembly, set <br />up and testing of the Sound System(s) indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. <br />B. Speaker mounting frame(s). Custom by contractor, deferred approval item. Provide full <br />isometric drawings showing all attaching points, mounting hardware, Low frequency <br />enclosure internal bracing and welding details. All hardware shall be load rated. <br />Drawings shall be provided and approved by a Licensed Structural Engineer. <br />Fabrication shall be performed by a qualified fabrication specialist with a minimum of <br />five years direct experience with the type of speaker systems specified. Provide a <br />detailed list of at least three similar speaker clusters fabricated and installed within the <br />past three years. Fabrication specialist shall supervise and participate in the actual <br />installation of the cluster frame(s) and associated components. This person shall be <br />responsible for field changes required during the actual installation. Record drawings <br />shall reflect all changes. <br />C. Fabrication specialist shall verify the following: <br />1. Loctite or Vibratite has been applied to all nuts and bolts. <br />2. Washers, including lock washers have been installed at all appropriate locations. <br />3. Shackle pins have been properly secured and safety wired. <br />4. Turnbuckles have been properly safety wired. <br />5. Safety cables are in place and properly secured. <br />6. Nicopress tool is properly adjusted. <br />7. Compression fittings shall be checked with an oval and stop sleeve gauge. <br />8. Speaker cabinet internal bracing is installed. <br />9. Prior to installation all speaker clusters for this project shall be pre -assembled and <br />pre -hung in the contractors shop for inspection by the A&E or their designated <br />representative. No components shall be installed until said inspection has <br />occurred. Inspector will verify the 8 items listed above in addition to overall <br />compliance with the approved working drawings. <br />D. Related work found elsewhere: <br />1. Electrical Systems <br />2.
