MULTI-PURPOSE SOUND SYSTEM Section 16780 15-1207 PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 CONDITIONS: A. This section is valid only when considered in total with all other Contract Documents. References are for the convenience of the reader and their inclusion in or omission from any Section in no way limits its scope or intent of any Contract Document. 1.2 WORK INCLUDED: A. Description: Provide all materials, engineering, and labor required to provide a complete and fully operational Sound System as described on the Drawings and in these Specifications. This work shall include the furnishing, installation, assembly, set up and testing of the Sound System(s) indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. B. Speaker mounting frame(s). Custom by contractor, deferred approval item. Provide full isometric drawings showing all attaching points, mounting hardware, Low frequency enclosure internal bracing and welding details. All hardware shall be load rated. Drawings shall be provided and approved by a Licensed Structural Engineer. Fabrication shall be performed by a qualified fabrication specialist with a minimum of five years direct experience with the type of speaker systems specified. Provide a detailed list of at least three similar speaker clusters fabricated and installed within the past three years. Fabrication specialist shall supervise and participate in the actual installation of the cluster frame(s) and associated components. This person shall be responsible for field changes required during the actual installation. Record drawings shall reflect all changes. C. Fabrication specialist shall verify the following: 1. Loctite or Vibratite has been applied to all nuts and bolts. 2. Washers, including lock washers have been installed at all appropriate locations. 3. Shackle pins have been properly secured and safety wired. 4. Turnbuckles have been properly safety wired. 5. Safety cables are in place and properly secured. 6. Nicopress tool is properly adjusted. 7. Compression fittings shall be checked with an oval and stop sleeve gauge. 8. Speaker cabinet internal bracing is installed. 9. Prior to installation all speaker clusters for this project shall be pre -assembled and pre -hung in the contractors shop for inspection by the A&E or their designated representative. No components shall be installed until said inspection has occurred. Inspector will verify the 8 items listed above in addition to overall compliance with the approved working drawings. D.
