Reducing the number of speaker mounting locations reduces financial impact for conduit and speaker mounting. All weight & structural requirements shall be verified by the structural engineer, prior to the installation. 2. A single speaker component shall be provided for the spectator's benches on the opposite side of the court as indicated on the plans. A minimum of 1100 horizontal and 100 vertical audio coverage shall be required at these locations. A single speaker mounting frame shall be provided by the audiovisual contractor. These speakers shall be attached to the steel beam. All weight & structural 'requirements shall be verified by the structural engineer. An electronic delay shall be added to the speaker program to properly time the audio from the main court speakers. 3. The addition of the subwoofers for the court speakers provide a low frequency enhancement to the music for the bleacher speakers, while providing full dynamics for music playback and speech audio for temporary floor seating on the court. (Note: Additional bass will create a challenging audio situation for announcements with room acoustics, although music appears to be enhanced.) A speaker mounting frame, constructed of P-1000 Uni-Strut or custom steel work shall be provided by the audiovisual contractor. The speaker mounting frame must provide support and adjustment for the spectators' speaker, subwoofer and court speakers. All weight & structural requirements shall be verified by the structural engineer, prior to the installation. 4. All loudspeakers shall be connected electrically in phase. Each speaker shall be connected with one individual "home run" wire without splices. 12 AWG wire shall be the minimum wire requirement on all direct load speakers. Use underground (AQ series — West Penn) wire where required 3.3 TEST EQUIPMENT: A. Equipment: Provide at least one (1) each of the following items or approved equals: 1. Wide Band Oscilloscope (Tektronix T912 or equal). 2. Digital Volt -ohm meter (Fluke or equal). 3. Low Distortion Audio Frequency Sine Wave Oscillator (General Radio 1309-A or equal). 4. Pink Noise Generator (General Radio 1382 or equal). 5. Real Time Audio Spectrum Analyzer, One -Third Octave Audio Control Industrial SA -3050A 6. Sound Level Meter Octave Analyzer (General Radio 1933 or equal). 7. Equalizer Programmer (Micro Audio 8051A or equal). 8. Impedance Bridge (Sennheiser ZP-2 or equal). 9. All required adapters, cables, connectors, etc. 10. Communications equipment. 11. Any other items of equipment or materials required to ensure conformance with the performance specifications. B. Maintenance and Storage: Furnish, store and maintain test equipment at Contractors place of business for both routine and performance testing of this work. 21
