HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ABATEMENT <br />PCB BALLASTS & FLUORESCENT LAMPS <br />Section 02075 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this <br />Section, as if repeated herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 02073, Relocatable Building Demolition. <br />B. Section 16000, Electrical. <br />1.03 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. This specification section includes the oScope of Work❑ and technical specifications <br />including Handling and Disposal Requirements for PCB containing light ballasts and <br />fluorescent light tubes. <br />B. Contractor shall assume all fluorescent fixtures to be removed contain PCB containing <br />ballasts. <br />C. Contractor shall remove all PCB ballasts from fixtures and store as described herein. <br />D. Contractor to dispose of ballasts off-site as described here -in and provide certification to the <br />Owner, of proper disposal. <br />E. Contractor shall handle and dispose of all fluorescent fixture lamps as hazardous waste. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />EQUIPMENT: <br />- 55 gallon drum(s) <br />- 6 MIL Polyethylene bag liners for 55 gallon drum(s) <br />- Sawdust or vermiculite <br />- Small plastic bags <br />- Gloves: neoprene, nitrile, butyl rubber or Viton <br />- Appropriate hazard labels for drum(s) <br />- Appropriate manifest <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />Where PCB containing light ballasts are located, the following removal method shall be followed: <br />
