ASBESTOS ABATEMENT -- <br />ROOFING <br />Section 02082 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 -GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this <br />Section, as if repeated herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 01010, Summary of Work. <br />B. Section 01300, Submittals. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Qualification: Within ten (10) days from Notice to Proceed, submit the following documents: <br />Registration: Submit copy of the registration for Asbestos -Related Work from the <br />Division of Occupational Safety and Health in accordance with Title 8, Article 2.5 of the <br />California Code of Regulations. <br />a. Submit current copies of acknowledgement of registration to Architect by OLA for <br />each employee employed on this project. <br />2. Personnel Training - Superintendent and Foreman: Submit copy of certificates signed <br />by the superintendent and foreman that he or she has successfully completed a training <br />course in asbestos abatement project supervision offered by an EPA endorsed <br />educational institution. <br />3. Personnel Training - Workers: Submit copy of the asbestos abatement employee <br />training program, and certificates signed by each employee that he or she has had <br />instructions on the hazards of asbestos exposure, has had training in asbestos removal <br />and understands this instruction. <br />4. Respirators: Submit a written standard operating procedure governing selection, fit - <br />testing, and use of respirators in accordance with 29 CFR 1910, Subpart I, 29 CFR <br />1926.58, CGAI Standard G7.1, ANSI Z88.2, and Z88.6. Also submit manufacturer's <br />certification that the respirators to be used in this project comply with these regulatory <br />requirements. <br />5. Medical Examination: Submit proof that personnel who will be entering contaminated <br />areas have had medical examinations, and furnish the results of said exam to the <br />Owner. Comply with 29 CFR 1910.20 for access to employee exposure and medical <br />records. <br />a. Before exposure to airborne asbestos, provide each employee with a <br />comprehensive medical exam meeting the general definition outlined in California <br />Administrative Code Title 8, CCR Section 5208 0). No employee shall be allowed <br />to enter the Work Area without having first provided a copy of his medical history <br />to the State. <br />b. Submit an employee roster to the Owner for each Work shift and confirm in <br />writing within 24 hours of commencement of shift. <br />B. Notifications, Communications and Postings: <br />
