SITE DRAINAGE <br />Section 02400 <br />15-1207 <br />M. CDS Storm Water Treatment - Contech 2015-4-C. <br />N. Filter Fabric: Mirafi 140N. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION LAYOUT AND PREPARATION <br />A. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify by field <br />measurements that installed work of all other trades is complete to the point were this <br />installation may properly commence <br />B. Layout all work, establish grades, locate existing underground utilities, set markers and <br />stakes, setup and maintain barricades and protection facilities; all prior to beginning actual <br />earthwork operations. Layout and staking shall be done by a licensed Land Surveyor or <br />Professional Civil Engineer. <br />C. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />D. In event of discrepancy, immediately notify Owner and the Architect. Do not proceed in <br />discrepant areas until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A. General: Installation shall be in strict conformance with referenced standards, the <br />manufacturer's written directions, as shown on the drawings and as herein specified. <br />B. Verify invert elevations at points of connection to existing systems prior to any excavation. If <br />invert elevations differ from that shown on drawings, notify Architect immediately. <br />C. Excavation and Bedding: <br />1. General: Trench straight and true to line and grade with bottom smooth and free of <br />irregularities or rock points. Trench width in accordance with pipe manufacturer's <br />recommendations and as per the drawings. Follow manufacturer's <br />recommendations for use of each kind and type of pipe. <br />2. Bedding: Provide bedding as detailed on plans for the full length of the pipe. <br />Bedding shall have a minimum thickness beneath the pipe of 4" or 1/8 the outside <br />diameter of the pipe, which ever is greater. Provide bell holes and depressions for <br />pipe joints only of size required to properly make joint. <br />D. Laying of Pipe: <br />1. General: Inspect pipe prior to placing. Set aside any defective or damaged <br />material. Do not place pipe in water nor place pipe when trenches or weather are <br />unsuitable. Lay pipe upgrade, true to line and grade. <br />2. Bell and Spigot Joints: Lubricate inside of bells and outside of spigots with soap <br />solution or as recommended by manufacture. Wedge joints tight. Bell of bell and <br />spigot pipe to be pointed upgrade. <br />5 <br />
