Gate Posts (single leaf): <br />To 6 ft. wide: 2-7/8 inch o.d. pipe at 5.79 lbs. per lin. ft. <br />F. Top rail and braces: 1-5/8" o.d. pipe at 2.27 lbs. per lin. ft., or 1-5/8" x 1-1/4" roll formed <br />section, 14 ga. <br />Brace Assembly: Brace shall be equally spaced between top rail and bottom fabric <br />selvage and run from end, gate, or corner post to first line posts with suitable malleable <br />iron fittings. Truss from line post to end, gate, or corner post with 3/8" round rod. <br />G. Tension wire: 7 ga. coil spring wire. <br />H. Gates: <br />1. Frames: 1-5/8" o.d. pipe at 2.27 lbs. per lin. ft. for gate leaves to 6' wide; leaves <br />over 6' wide, use 2" o.d. pipe at 2.72 lbs. per lin. ft. Provide additional horizontal <br />and vertical pipe or tube as necessary to assure proper gate operation and <br />attachment of fabric and hardware. <br />2. Diagonal bracing: Provide crossed diagonal adjustable length 3/8 truss rods on all <br />non -welded gate frames and welded gate frames where corner rigidity is insufficient to <br />insure no sag. <br />3. Fabric: Same as specified for fence. <br />4. Gate assembly: Weld or assemble gate frame with malleable or pressed steel fittings <br />and rivets to provide rigid connections. Install fabric with stretcher bars at vertical <br />edges, which may also be used at top and bottom edges. Securely attach stretcher <br />bars and fabric to frame on all sides at 15" o.c. Attach hardware with rivets or by other <br />means which will provide security against removal. <br />Gate hardware: <br />1. Hinges: Malleable iron, pressed or forged steel, non -liftoff type, easy noiseless <br />operation and long wear, offset to permit 180 degree gate opening. Ball and socket <br />hinges not acceptable. Provide 1-1/2 pair hinges for each leaf over 6' nominal height. <br />2. Latch: Malleable iron, drop fork latch which permits operation of the gate from either <br />side, with padlock eye provided as integral part of latch. At gates which are required to <br />receive panic hardware or lever locksets, provide all necessary galvanized iron lockset <br />boxes, backing plates or mounting plates as required for permanent, vandal resistant <br />mounting. All hardware must be disabled accessible as defined by and mounted per <br />the requirements of the CBC. <br />3. Gate stop and holder: Malleable iron for vehicle gates. Provide stop that automatically <br />engages gate frame and holds it in open position. <br />3 <br />
