IRRIGATION <br />Section 02810 <br />Project 15-1207 <br />1. Connections between remote control valves and controller: OF -14 direct burial <br />plastic coated two -wire cable. Common wire to be white, and lead wire to be <br />colored. If multiple controllers are used, a different color is to be used for each <br />controller's lead wire. (Use red for the first controller). Spare wires are to be <br />yellow. <br />2. UL Listed waterproof sealing pack for wire connections: 3M DBRN-6, or <br />approved equal. <br />3. Provide adequate working space around electrical equipment in compliance with <br />local codes and ordinances. <br />4. Electrical, other than low voltage, such as power wiring, conduit, fuses, thermal <br />overloads and disconnect switches, is included under Division 16 of these <br />Specifications. <br />M. Unions And Flanges: <br />1. Steel unions and flanges two inches (2") and smaller: 150 Ib. screwed black <br />(brass to iron seat) or galvanized malleable iron (ground joint). <br />2. Steel unions and flanges two and one-half inches (2'h") and larger: 150 Ib. black <br />flange union, flat -faced, full gasket. <br />3. Gaskets: One -sixteenth inch (1/16") thick rubber Garlock No. 122, Johns - <br />Manville or approved equal. <br />4. Flange Bolts: Open-hearth bolt steel, square heads with cold pressed hexagonal <br />nuts, cadmium plated in ground. Provide copper -plated steel bolts and nuts or <br />brass bolts and nuts for brass flanges. <br />N. Sand for Trench Backfill: Natural sand, free of roots, bark, sticks, rags, or other <br />extraneous material. <br />PART 3 -EXECUTION <br />3.01 SITE CONDITIONS <br />A. Locations of existing utilities and other improvements shown on the Drawings are <br />approximate. Verify existing conditions and, should any utilities be encountered that are <br />not indicated on the plans, notify the Owner's Representative immediately. Accept <br />responsibility for any damages caused to existing services. <br />3.02 PREPARATION <br />A. Scheduling: Notify the Proiect Inspector prior to commencing and/or continuing the work <br />of this Section. Remove and replace, at no cost to Owner, any work required as a result <br />of failure to give the appropriate notification. <br />0 <br />
