LANDSCAPING <br />Section 02900 <br />Project 15-1207 <br />D. Root Barrier: As indicated on Drawings. <br />2.04 PLANT MATERIAL: <br />A. Nursery Plant Stock: <br />As indicated on Drawings. Do not remove container -grown stock from containers <br />until planting time. Plants shall be true to name. <br />2. Healthy, shapely, well -rooted, not pot-bound, free from insect pests or plant <br />diseases and properly "hardened off' before planting. Replace plants that are <br />not alive or are not in satisfactory growing condition, as determined by the <br />Landscape Architect, without additional cost to Owner. The Landscape Architect <br />may reject plants before and/or after planting. <br />3. Labeled. Label at least one tree and one shrub of each species with a securely - <br />attached, waterproof tag bearing legible designation of botanical and common <br />name. <br />B. Lawn Sod: Eighty percent (80%) Perennial Ryegrass and twenty percent (20%) <br />Kentucky Bluegrass. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 SITE CONDITIONS <br />A. Examine the site, verify grade elevations, and observe conditions under which work is <br />to be performed. Do not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions have been <br />corrected in a manner acceptable to the Owner's Representative. <br />B. Proceed with complete landscape work as rapidly as portions of the site become <br />available, working within seasonal limitations for each kind of landscape work required. <br />C. Determine location of underground utilities and perform work in a manner which will <br />avoid possible damage. Hand -excavate, as required, to minimize possibility of damage <br />to underground utilities. Maintain grade stakes set by others until removal is mutually <br />agreed upon by parties concerned. <br />D. When conditions detrimental to sod or plant growth are encountered, such as rubble fill, <br />adverse drainage condition, or other obstructions, notify the Owner's Representative <br />before planting. <br />3.02 SOIL TESTING <br />A. Coordinate soil testing in an expeditious and timely manner as required for on-site topsoil <br />materials. Contract with a soil laboratory and include cost of sampling and testing in <br />contract price. Take one (1) sample for every 5,000 square feet of landscape area up <br />to a maximum of six (6) samples under the direction of and in the presence of the <br />Owner's Representative. <br />0 <br />
