APPARATUS FILL <br />Section 02925 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 -GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this <br />Section, as if repeated herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 02200, Earthwork <br />B. Section 02400, Site Drainage <br />C. Section 02462, Apparatus Equipment <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Use only new materials and products, unless existing materials or products are specifically <br />shown otherwise on the Drawings to be salvaged and re -used. <br />B. Use materials and products of one manufacturer whenever possible. <br />C. All materials, components, assemblies, workmanship and installation are to be observed by <br />the Owner's Inspector of Record. Work not so inspected is subject to uncovering and <br />replacement. <br />D. Certification: <br />1. Surfacing shall be IPEMA-Certified Engineered Wood Fiber. Standard wood chips <br />or bark mulch will not be acceptable. <br />2. Supplier must certify that the surface meets the intent of the Americans with <br />Disabilities Act (ADA). <br />E. Tests: <br />1. Supplier must provide test results for engineered wood fiber material and impact <br />attenuation mat for impact attenuation in accordance with ASTM F 1292 Standard <br />Specification for Impact Attenuation for Surface Systems Under and Around <br />Playground Equipment. Results must be provided for new material and for 12 -year old <br />engineered wood fiber material. <br />2. Testing of engineered wood fiber material shall be in accordance with ASTM F 1292 <br />and must show G -max values of less than 120G for the 12" system at 12' drop <br />heights, and HIC values of less than 1,000 for both new and 12 -year-old material. <br />3. Testing of impact attenuation mat must be in accordance with ASTM F 1292 and must <br />show G -max values of less than 200G, and HIC values of less than 1,000 for a 3' drop <br />height. <br />4. Supplier must provide test results for the engineered wood fiber in accordance with <br />ASTM F 2075 Specification for Engineered Wood Fiber for Use as Playground Safety <br />Surface Under and Around Playground Equipment. <br />5. Supplier must provide test results in accordance with ASTM F 1951 Standard <br />Specification for Determination of Accessibility of Surface Systems Under and Around <br />Playground Equipment. <br />
