Provide schedule and sequence information to Testing Agency in writing upon request. <br />Update information as work progresses. <br />PART 2 - MATERIALS <br />2.01 STEEL SHAPES AND PLATES <br />A. Miscellaneous steel shapes including S, ST, M, MT & HP channels, angles, and bars shall <br />meet the requirements of ASTM A36. <br />B. Steel plate shall meet ASTM A36, unless noted otherwise. <br />C. All steel W and WT shapes shall meet the requirements of ASTM A992. <br />2.02 HOLLOW STRUCTURAL SHAPES (HSS) <br />A. Square and Rectangular HSS: <br />All rectangular & square tubing shall meet the requirements of ASTM A500 Grade B, <br />46 ksi minimum yield strength. <br />B. Round HSS: <br />All round HSS shall meet the requirements of ASTM A500, Grade B, 42 ksi minimum <br />yield strength. <br />2.03 PIPE COLUMNS <br />A. All pipe columns shall meet the requirements of ASTM A53, Type S, Grade B, 35 ksi <br />minimum yield strength. <br />2.04 BOLTS, NUTS AND WASHERS <br />A. High strength bolts: <br />1. All high strength bolts, nuts and washers shall meet the requirements of ASTM A325, <br />Type 1 <br />2. Use high strength bearing bolts (A325N) for all bolted steel -to -steel connections unless <br />otherwise indicated on the drawings. Use high strength slip critical bolts (A325 SC) <br />when indicated on drawings. <br />3. Bolts and nuts for high strength shall be heavy hex head conforming to ANSI <br />Standards 1318.2.1 and 1318.2.2 respectively. Nuts shall conform to ASTM A563, <br />"Standard Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel nuts". <br />4. Washers shall be circular, flat and smooth and shall conform to requirements of Type A <br />washers in ANSI Standard 823.1. Washers for high strength bolts shall be hardened <br />and conform to ASTM F 436, Specification for Hardened Steel Washers. Beveled <br />washers for American Standard Beams and channels shall be square or rectangular, <br />shall taper in thickness (16-2/3 percent slope) with average thickness of 5/16 inch. <br />When an outer face of a bolted part has a slope greater than 1:20 with respect to a <br />plane normal to bolt axis, a beveled washer shall be used. <br />5 <br />
