COLD FORMED METAL FRAMING <br />Section 05400 <br />15-1207 <br />D. Make delivery to job when notified by Contractor verifying that the job is ready to receive the <br />work of this Section and that arrangements have been made to properly store, handle and <br />protect such materials and work. <br />1.08 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Fireproofing: Where partitions and sprayed -on fireproofing are scheduled in same area, <br />install clips for attachment of metal framing before application of sprayed -on fireproofing. <br />PART 2 - MATERIALS <br />2.01 FRAMING MATERIALS <br />A. Members of the "Steel Stud Manufacturer's Association" (SSMA) with products meeting all <br />the requirements of ICC -ES ESR -3064P, latest revision. <br />B. Steel Members: <br />General: Studs, joists and tracks are formed with steel having a minimum 33.0 ksi yield <br />stress. (ASTM A653 SS Grade 33) for thicknesses 33 mils through 43 mils, and a <br />minimum 50.0 ksi yield stress (ASTM A653 SS Grade 50, Class 1 or 3) for thicknesses <br />of 54 mils and heavier. <br />C. Stud Types: <br />1. General: Provide standard punch types designed for screw application of applied <br />materials. Punch -outs will be located along centerline of the webs of the members and <br />will have a minimum center -to -center spacing of 24". Punch -outs will also have a <br />maximum width equal to half the member depth (d/2) or 2'/2", whichever is less, and a <br />maximum length of 4'/2". Provide distance equal to 1.5 x depth of stud between the <br />end of the member and the near edge of the web punch -out, minimum of 10". <br />2. Studs: Roll -formed structural (S) stud with 1-5/8" stiffened flanges and punched webs; <br />33 mils (20 gage) minimum thickness unless otherwise noted on drawings. <br />D. Channels: <br />1. Runners and Tracks: Roll -formed structural (T) type to match stud width, with 1'h" <br />wide flanges; 33 mils (20 gage) minimum thickness unless otherwise noted on <br />drawings. <br />2. Furring: Roll -formed (hat) furring (F) channel, 18 mil thickness, 0.875" deep x 2'h" <br />minimum width, with 1/2" wide flanges. Use 33mils (20 gage) minimum thickness unless <br />otherwise noted if hanging casework from these furring channels. <br />3. Lateral Bracing: 1'h" cold -rolled channel (CRC) x 54 mils; rust inhibitive coated with <br />material which complies with CARB and EPA regulations. <br />E. Hardware: <br />1. Framing Connectors: Provide clips manufactured by "The Steel Network Inc", "Simpson <br />Strong -Tie", or approved equal. <br />3 <br />
