ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />Section 06100 <br />15-1207 <br />1.09 PROJECT RECORD DOCUMENTS <br />A. Provide per Section 01700, Contract Closeout. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Lumber: Douglas Fir -Larch unless otherwise noted. Lumber designated as Douglas Fir <br />South by WWPA is not acceptable. All lumber shall be graded under the American Softwood <br />Lumber Standard DOC PS 20-05 and one of the following: <br />1. Standard Grading Rules No 17, West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau (WCLIB) or <br />Western Lumber Grading Rules, Western Wood Products Association (WWPA). <br />2. Standard Specifications for Grades of California Redwood Lumber, current edition - <br />RIS. <br />B. Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL) for Blocking and Rim Joists Applications Only: <br />Weyerhaeuser or Rebuilt meeting ICC ES Report ESR -1387 and Division of the State <br />Architect Interpretation of Regulation No. IR A-5, or accepted equal. <br />C. All lumber shall be new with no re -use except as permitted by Architect. Lumber 3x or <br />thicker will be free of heart center without any pith enclosed within the piece or showing on <br />any surface. Maximum moisture content 19%. i#hlaA( /Ns-rA-u,&2�, <br />1. Lumber Grades: All lumber grades and plywood shall comply with the following <br />minimum requirements for species and grades unless specifically noted otherwise on the <br />Drawings. (See also 2.02C.) <br />a. General: Douglas Fir Larch as follows: <br />2x4 <br />No. 2 <br />Vis. <br />Graded. <br />2x6 <br />No. 2 <br />Vis. <br />Graded <br />2x8 -2x14 <br />No. 2 <br />Vis. <br />Graded <br />3x4 -3x14 <br />No. 2 <br />Vis. <br />Graded <br />4x4 -4x1 <br />No. 1 <br />and <br />Better Vis. Graded <br />4x12 -4x16 <br />No. 1 <br />Vis. <br />Graded <br />6x6 -larger <br />No. 1 <br />Vis. <br />Graded <br />2. Sills: Douglas Fir No. 2 or better; pressure treated with an approved Borate (SBX) <br />preservative to obtain minimum penetration of 1/4" into all surfaces of wood, marked or <br />branded by an American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) approved inspection <br />agency. Foundation grade Redwood sills may be used only for non-structural stud <br />walls or where specifically shown on the Drawings. <br />3. Blocking, bridging, furring, stripping and nailers - No. 2. <br />4. Sheathing: APA Rated Sheathing, Exposure 1. Use T&G panels where noted. <br />3 <br />
