ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />Section 06100 <br />15-1207 <br />a. General: Anchor rods shall be furnished with a 45 -degree chisel point on one end <br />to allow for easy insertion into adhesive filled hole and manufactured to meet the <br />requirements of ASTM A36. Nuts and washers shall be furnished to meet the <br />requirements of the anchor rod specifications noted above. Install per <br />manufacturer's recommendation; use stainless steel for all exterior work; testing <br />required per CBC 1916A.7. <br />1) Acceptable Products: <br />a) Concrete: Hilti "HIT-HY 200" (ICC ESR -3187), Simpson "SET -XP" <br />Epoxy (ICC ESR -2508), or accepted equal. <br />b) CMU: Simpson "SET -XP" (IAPMO-ES ER -0265) <br />F. Rough Hardware: <br />Hangers, Clamps, Straps and Anchors: <br />a. General: Steel or iron of standard type and manufacture. <br />b. Special Fabrications: Provided under Section 05110 - Miscellaneous Metals. <br />C. Light Gage Metal Connectors: Use maximum number of fasteners in each <br />connection unless otherwise noted. <br />2. Acceptable Manufacturer: Simpson Strong -Tie Co. <br />3. Acceptable Alternatives: Due to the quantity and specific detailing of hardware, it is a <br />requirement "Simpson Strong -Tie Co." products be used in the "base bid". Alternative <br />products will be considered for approval as an alternate bid provided specific hardware <br />is compatible with connection and other components of the structural system, and <br />allowable load capacities exceed or meet the criteria of the specified product. Use of <br />alternate products will require side-by-side documented comparison and change order <br />submitted by Contractor, to be reviewed by Structural Engineer and DSA. The review <br />and approval of a substitution will be paid by the Owner and deducted from contract <br />price. <br />4. Light Gage Metal Straps: ASTM A653 with yield strength 33 ksi, ultimate of 45 ksi. <br />G. Building Paper: Pabco, J.M., or accepted equal; #15 asphalt saturated felt. <br />H. Non -shrink Grout: Embeco, Ferrolith G.D.S, or accepted equal; pre -mixed, non -shrinking <br />and non -staining. <br />Joint Sealants: Furnished and installed under this Section. (Materials and workmanship <br />shall conform to Section 07900.) <br />2.02 QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. Lumber: <br />Grade mark each piece of lumber by agency approved by DSA. Lumber <br />Manufacturer's Association Certificates may be accepted in lieu of such grade and <br />5 <br />
