ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />Section 06100 <br />15-1207 <br />install necessary nailing member for plywood panels, so that all edges fall on solid <br />framing. Provide solid blocking for gypsum wallboard only at cut or square edges. <br />(Tapered edges do not require blocking.) Provide blocking for anchorage or nailing of <br />all finish; wood and metal door frames (including wall and ceiling access doors); metal <br />coverings; plasterwork; nailing members used in connection with roof decking; blocking <br />and backing required by all wall or ceiling hung equipment and accessories (including <br />suspended acoustic ceiling), and by Mechanical and Electrical Contractors for heating, <br />plumbing and electrical fixtures. <br />7. Plywood Sheathing: Install with face grain vertical. Allow minimum 1/16" space at end <br />joints and 1/8" at edge joints; double spacings in wet or humid conditions. <br />C. Roof Framing: <br />1. Beams and Girders: Install with crown edge up. Provide full bearing at ends of each <br />member as shown. Splices not permitted except over columns. <br />2. Joist Framing: Install with crown edges up and support ends of each member minimum <br />of 1-1/2" of bearing on wall framing. Anchor joists and provide blocking for all plywood <br />joints and as shown. <br />3. Rafter Framing: Notch to fit exterior wall plates. Double at openings in roof. Bevel ends <br />of rafters at ridge and hip rafters. Place rafters directly opposite each other at ridge. <br />Provide solid blocking for all plywood joints. <br />4. Plywood Roof sheathing: Install plywood with face grain perpendicular to supports, <br />using panel with continuous end joints over two or more spans staggered between <br />panels and located over supports. Where drawings call for a panelized framing system; <br />install plywood with face grain parallel to framing; panels staggered. Allow minimum <br />space 1/16" between end joints and at edge joints for expansion and contraction of <br />panels. Stagger panels at end joists. <br />3.03 MISCELLANEOUS INSTALLATION <br />A. After installation of metal items specified in Section 05100 and 05400 (or Section 05110) <br />touch up abrasions or voids in shop prime coat, using same material specified for priming. <br />B. Provide curbs and bolting for mechanical equipment as shown on Mechanical Drawings. <br />C. Provide vent holes as shown on Drawings. <br />D. At sound -deadened partitions install sill plates on double bead of non -skinning type, butyl - <br />based caulking compound. <br />E. For items involving more than one section of these Specifications, coordinate work of all <br />trades and be responsible for installation of item. <br />F. Install railing, using specified non -shrink grout in accord with manufacturers printed <br />instructions. <br />G. Caulking: (See Section 07900 for locations where joint sealants will be applied.) At other <br />locations, and wherever required, apply specified material neatly and in accord with <br />manufacturer's written instructions. Apply with sufficient pressure to completely fill joints. <br />
