PREFABRICATED WOOD <br />"1" JOISTS <br />Section 06190 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 INCLUSION OF OTHER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS <br />A. The General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 are fully applicable to this <br />Section, as if repeated herein. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 05100, Structural Steel <br />B. Section 06100, Rough Carpentry. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Use only new materials and products, unless existing materials or products are specifically <br />shown otherwise on the Drawings to be salvaged and re -used. <br />B. All materials, components, assemblies, workmanship and installation are to be observed by <br />the Owner's Inspector of Record. Work not so inspected is subject to uncovering and <br />replacement. <br />C. Fabricators must have a DSA approved QA/QC program as required per DSA IR 23-9.10. <br />D. Installer Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience on similar work; knowledge and <br />understanding of standards referenced herein; skill necessary to perform in compliance with <br />this specification. Installers failing to demonstrate the required experience, knowledge, or <br />skill shall be removed from the project. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Refer to Section 01300. <br />B. Manufacturer's Data: Submit list and complete descriptive data of all products proposed for <br />use. Include manufacturer's specifications current ICC Report, published warranty or <br />guarantee, installation instructions, and maintenance instructions. <br />C. Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings of all materials to be furnished under this section. <br />Shop drawings shall include the following items: <br />1. Plan layout of members, including grid lines, member designations, framed openings, <br />spans and spacing of joists. <br />2. Design loads and allowable stress increases (15% maximum allowable stress increase <br />for duration of load). Joist manufacturer shall incorporate a 400 Ib concentrated <br />vertical load (DL = 150 Ib; LL = 250 Ib) on the joists from sprinkler line. Joist must be <br />designed to carry the load at any point along the span length. Sprinkler load need not <br />be concurrent with other roof live loads. <br />
