PREFORMED METAL SOFFIT PANELS <br />Section 07411 <br />12-1207 <br />PART2-PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MANUFACTURERS <br />A. Preformed metal wall panels shall be manufactured by AEP Span. <br />Panels shall be "Flush Panel, 24 gauge, 12 inches wide with 7/8 inch high. <br />B. Substitutions: <br />Substitutions must fully comply with specified requirements. <br />2. Refer to Specification Section 01300, Substitution Procedures. <br />2.02 MATERIALS <br />A. Panels shall be formed from: <br />1. Steel conforming to ASTM A-446 Structural Grade A with a G-90 (1.25 oz.) galvanized <br />coating conforming to ASTM A-525. <br />2. Finish: Exterior finish to be a two coat roll coated system, consisting of a primer with a <br />dry film thickness of 0.2 - 0.3 mil and a PVDF finish coat (a full 70% Kynar 500 Finish) <br />with a dry film thickness of 1.0, for a total dry topside film thickness of 0.9 - 1.1 mils and <br />a specular gloss of 10 - 15 when tested in accordance with ASTM D-523-89 at 60 <br />degrees. The reverse side shall receive a primer with a dry film thickness of 0.2 - 0.3 <br />mil and a backer coat with a dry film thickness of 0.3 - 0.4. All measurements per <br />ASTM D 1005. The reverse side in exposed locations shall be field painted to match <br />framing. <br />3. Color: <br />a. Custom color as selected by Architect. <br />2.03 ACCESSORIES <br />A. Fasteners shall be self -tapping as recommended by the manufacturer's selection guide; <br />quantity and type to meet loading and code requirements. Fasteners shall be carbon steel or <br />stainless steel with metal and neoprene bonded washers; color coated to match panels if <br />exposed. Minimum fasteners unless otherwise indicated shall be No. 8 Sheet Metal Screws <br />@ 1'-0" o.c. along panel seams and at quarter points of end of panels. <br />B. Provide manufacturer's standard accessories and other items essential to completeness of <br />metal soffit system <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation of the work of this section, carefully inspect the installed work of other <br />trades and verify that all work is complete to the point where this installation may properly <br />commence. <br />3 <br />
