SHEET METAL <br />Section 07600 <br />15-1207 <br />S. Flashings: <br />1. Install flashings required to provide watertight protection. <br />2. Assemble and install flashings at roofing and waterproofing conditions to conform to <br />approved manufacturer's recommendations and the requirements of the Built-up <br />Roofing and Single Ply Roofing Sections. <br />3. Carry flashings around and past corners 4 -inches minimum. Soldered joints or <br />otherwise joints joined directly at an inside or outside corner is not permitted. Three- <br />way angles such as inside corners made up of two parapets and a roof deck <br />converging shall have the corners soldered watertight. <br />4. Flashings installed to be fully restrained shall be nailed at 3" centers (max.); otherwise <br />use clips or cleats. <br />5. Unless roofing manufacturer has more stringent requirements, make up continuous <br />straight runs of flashings in 24 ft. maximum lengths. Provide expansion lapped <br />expansion joints at 10 ft. maximum from any external or internal corners, and in straight <br />runs at not less than 24 ft. apart. Running joints between expansion joints shall be <br />locked and soldered or lapped and riveted/soldered. At all joints, laps shall be a <br />minimum of 8". <br />6. All Flashings shall conform to the appropriate plates and recommendations of the <br />referenced SMACNA Manual. <br />7. Install flashings at Traffic -Bearing Deck Surfacing after underlayment for drainage is <br />installed, as applicable, and in accordance with manufacturer's requirements. All joints <br />and seams to be overlapped 3 inches minimum, and caulked with specified sealant. <br />Coordinate installation with Traffic -Bearing Deck Surfacing installer. <br />T. Prefinished Metal Parapet Cap and Prefinished Edge Metal: <br />1. Form to Details in up to 10'-0" lengths. <br />2. Follow Coping and Edge Metal system manufacturer's installation requirements to meet <br />wind uplift requirements. Install brackets as required to properly anchor coping. <br />3. Provide expansion joints every 16'-0" maximum. <br />U. Fabricate gutters, expansion joints, downspouts, leader boxes, scuppers and methods of <br />anchorage/support as shown on the Drawings and in conformance with the referenced <br />SMACNA Manual. <br />Gutters: <br />a. Hung type gutters shall be constructed of 22 gauge gsm and to sizes and profiles <br />as shown on the Drawings. <br />b. Internal type gutters shall be constructed of 22 gauge gsm in sizes and profiles as <br />shown on drawings. <br />C. Ends of each section shall be joined by 1" lapped riveted (2" o.c.) and soldered. <br />Close ends of each gutter using same material as gutter; solder joints. <br />d. Unless otherwise indicated provide expansion joints midway between drain <br />outlets and not over 40'-0" apart. Construct lap type or butt type expansion joints <br />as indicated and in conformance with the referenced SMACNA Manual. <br />e. Unless otherwise indicated gutter brackets, strap or spacers shall be sized as <br />recommended and in conformance with the referenced SMACNA Manual and <br />shall be spaced at a maximum of 3'-0" on center. <br />f. At completion of gutter installation verify that gutter seams, expansion joints and <br />end caps do not leak utilizing a garden hose or other means to water test gutters. <br />D <br />
