METAL DOORS & FRAMES <br />Section 08100 <br />15-1207 <br />E. Cutout: Make cutouts for required louvers and glazing. <br />F. Preparation for Hardware: Factory prepare and reinforce doors for indicated finish hardware. <br />Make cutouts and mortises for mortise hardware. <br />1. Provide 7 ga. (0.167 in., 4.2 mm) offset steel reinforcement for hinges; <br />12 ga. (0.093 in., 2.3 mm) for locksets and surface applied hardware. <br />All thicknesses provided are minimum. <br />2. Internal reinforcing shall prevent collapse of face sheets by stress of <br />lockset installation. Provide reinforcement on both faces of all doors <br />for surface mounted closers (regular and parallel arm type) whether or <br />not closers are indicated. <br />3. Perform drilling and tapping for mortise hardware at factory to <br />templates furnished by hardware vendor. Drilling and tapping for <br />surface applied hardware by hardware installer. <br />4. Doors and frames to be prepared for finish hardware per templates <br />supplied by the hardware supplier. <br />G. Louvers and Vision Frames: Factory prepare and reinforce doors as necessary for louvers <br />and vision frames. <br />Metal Vision Frames by Anemostat or approved equal shall be 20 gauge (0.042 in., <br />1.0mm) C.R.S. low profile, two-piece with mitered and welded corners with counter- <br />sunk mounting holes for flush assembly. Frame shall be factory galvanized and field <br />painted to match door color. Size as required for door and glass thickness. Frame <br />shall be fire rated where noted in door schedule. <br />2. Louvers (fixed): Anemostat Door Products PLSL louver with 12 gauge <br />cold rolled steel security grille, 20 gauge cold rolled steel non -vision <br />louver blades, non -rated with galvanized steel (zinc plated) finish at <br />interior and exterior location, field painted. Provide insect screens at <br />exterior locations. <br />2.03 PRESSED METAL FRAMES <br />A. General: Welded type per CS242 as minimum requirements, plus additional requirements <br />specified herein. Shop fabricate with straight arises, edges and corners; surface free from <br />warp, wave, buckle, dents or other defects. Use of excessive metallic filler to conceal <br />manufacturing defects is not acceptable. <br />1. All pressed metal steel frames shall be formed from A60 Galvanealled sheet steel, <br />conforming to ASTM A653-96. <br />B. Fabrication: Manufacturer's standard, modified where shown, 16 ga. (0.053 in., 1.3 mm) <br />steel, cross section profile as shown, depth to suit wall thickness. Header and jambs secured <br />at corners by internal welding of faces or by welded splice plates, and further secured at webs <br />by welding or mechanical interlock; exposed joints neat and tight. Provide two (2) temporary <br />metal spreaders at bottom of frames to maintain rigidity. Welding per applicable standards of <br />AWS for high grade hollow metal work. See paragraph E. below for required moisture <br />proofing/sound deadening coating. At joints of intersecting mullions, seal with 3M Lightweight <br />Body Filler followed by 3M Ultrapro MSP Sprayable Seam Sealer. <br />:1! <br />
