METAL DOORS & FRAMES <br />Section 08100 <br />15-1207 <br />G. Exterior Door Flashing System Components: <br />1. Flashing Membrane: 9 -inch, StraightFlash (30 -mil for straight flashing runs) or <br />FlexWrap NF (64 -mil for curved flashing runs), butyl rubber, self-adhesive flashing as <br />manufactured by Dupont. Use in conjunction with manufacturer's recommended <br />primer when applying over CMU or concrete surfaces. <br />2. Flashing Sealant: Dupont Weatherization Sealant as manufactured by Dupont. Use at <br />exterior pressed metal door frame flanges. <br />3. Backing Paper Tape: DuPont Tyvec Tape (for Tyvec CommercialWrap D only), 3" <br />wide, or approved equal. <br />2.04 PRIMING <br />A. Bonderize and factory paint doors and frames with one coat of rust inhibitive primer. Back <br />coat frames with asphaltic emulsion wherever frames will be in contact with masonry. Verify <br />and coordinate primer compatibility with finish painting. Prior to and after primer is <br />applied, store and protect doors properly to prevent the possibility of rusting or moisture <br />damage. Doors and frames shall be re -primed on-site prior to finish painting (by painting <br />contractor). <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSPECTION <br />A. Prior to installation of the work of this Section, carefully inspect and verify that the installed <br />work of all other trades is complete to the point where this installation may properly <br />commence. <br />B. Verify that specified items may be installed in accordance with the approved design. <br />C. Prior to fabrication, verify every opening size, including wall thickness, and coordinate with <br />door sizes as shown on drawings. <br />D. In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify Architect. Do not proceed in discrepant areas <br />until discrepancies have been fully resolved. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A. General: Install metal doors and frames and accessories in conformance with reviewed Shop <br />Drawings and manufacturer's data, and as specified herein. <br />B. Placing frames: <br />1. Comply with provisions of SDI -105 "Recommended Erection Instructions for Steel <br />Frames", unless otherwise indicated. <br />2. Set frames accurately in position, plumbed, aligned, and braced securely until <br />permanent anchors are set. After wall construction is complete, remove temporary <br />braces and spreaders leaving surfaces smooth and undamaged. <br />a.
