ENTRANCES & STOREFRONTS <br />Section 08410 <br />15-1207 <br />2. Weathertight Construction: Install sill members and other members in a bed of sealant or <br />with joint filler or gaskets, to provide weathertight construction. Coordinate installation <br />with wall flashings and other components of construction. <br />3. Attach to structure to permit sufficient adjustment to accommodate construction <br />tolerances and other irregularities. <br />4. Provide alignment attachments and shims to permanently fasten system to building <br />structure. <br />5. Align assembly plumb and level, free of warp and twist. Maintain assembly dimensional <br />tolerances aligning with adjacent work. <br />6. Set thresholds in bed of mastic and secure. <br />7. Adjusting: Adjust operating hardware for smooth operation. <br />B. All openings shall be fully prepared to receive window wall. Any shoring or debris must be <br />removed and any corrective work completely finished prior to start of window wall erection. <br />C. Attachment at wood framing to be #12 wood screws at 12" o.c. all edges, 1-3/4" min. <br />embedment. <br />D. Attachment at masonry and concrete to be 1/4" diameter x 2-1/2" Ramset "Dynabolt" Sleeve <br />anchors at 12" o.c. all edges. <br />E. Attachment at steel framing to be with manufacturer's recommended fasteners, 1-3/4" min. <br />embedment at 12" o.c. all edges. <br />3.04 SEALANTS <br />A. All perimeters of window wall shall be carefully sealed as noted and detailed in Drawings and <br />as required to maintain weathertightness. <br />B. Application per manufacturer's instructions. Sealants must be applied only to completely dry <br />and clean substrates. <br />3.05 PROTECTION <br />A. Protect work and materials of this Section prior to and during installation, and protect the <br />installed work and materials of other trades. <br />B. In the event of damage, make all repairs and replacements necessary to the approval of the <br />Architect at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />C. Continuously protect exposed surfaces from damage until final completion of project. Do not <br />allow paint or stain on metal parts. <br />3.06 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING <br />A. Adjust operating hardware for proper operation immediately prior to acceptance of project. <br />B. Comply with requirements of referenced standards listed above. Insure that weep holes are <br />unobstructed and free of dirt, rubbish, sealants, etc., at completion of project. <br />C. After installation, clean all metal surfaces of all plaster, paint and other contaminants in <br />accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br />9 <br />
