Apply welded wire lath with long dimensions at right angles to studs with true even <br />surfaces and without sags or buckles in accordance with ASTM C847. Attach with <br />fasteners at 6 inches o.c. to each stud. All upper sheets shall overlap lower sheets per <br />ASTM 1063. Stagger vertical laps. Do not penetrate paper with wire when wire tying <br />side laps. Metal lath shall be furred out from vertical supports a minimum of 1/4". <br />C. Reinforce interior corners with Interior Corner Reinforcement. Fasten as recommended by <br />manufacturer. Interior Corner Reinforcement may be omitted where metal lath turns at least 3 <br />inches past corner to form angle reinforcement. <br />D. Reinforce exterior corners with Exterior Corner Bead. Fasten as recommended by <br />manufacturer, spaced not less than 18 -inches on center. <br />E. Reinforce door and window openings with Strip Lath applied a minimum of 8 inches <br />diagonally, each direction, from point of corner. <br />F. Install Casing Bead where plaster finish terminates, where plaster adjoins other materials and <br />around all wall openings. Install additional Casing Bead as indicated in drawings. <br />G. Control Joints, Expansion Screeds and Adjustable Expansion Joints: <br />Locate Control Joints, Expansion Screeds, Adjustable Expansion Joints, and other <br />accessories as indicated on the drawings. Where Control Joints are not specifically <br />indicated on drawings, the applicator is required to install them as required to create <br />panel sizes not exceeding 100 square feet (144 sq. ft. if over rigid insulation substrate). <br />Panels shall be as close to square in configuration as possible, with maximum panel <br />lengths of 12 feet. Panel sizes shall not to exceed a 2-1/2 to 1 ratio, width to height. <br />Unless otherwise noted, Control Joints may be applied over continuous lath. Coordinate <br />exact locations with Architect. <br />H. Ease exposed corners and sharp edges. Touch up painted finish as required. <br />Provide electrolytic protection between aluminum plaster accessories and metal lath by <br />means of building paper or felt inserted and fastened between. <br />3.06 PLASTER APPLICATION — WOOD <br />A. Apply plaster in accordance with ASTM C926 and ESR -2535. <br />B. Plaster System Thickness: <br />Per ASTM C926, as follows: <br />Application Nominal Thickness (inches) <br />Scratch Coat Brown Coat Finish Coat <br />Vertical 3/8* 3/8 1/8 <br />Horizontal 1/4* 3/8 1/8 <br />" Thickness is measured from back face of lath to face of scratch coat, although <br />sufficient material must be distributed and extend through back face of lath for proper <br />adhesion and keying of material. <br />11 <br />
