GYPSUM WALLBOARD <br />Section 09250 <br />15-1207 <br />or if proper ventilation is not provided to eliminate excessive moisture from building. <br />PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Gypsum Wallboard: <br />1. Fire resistant Type "X" Gypsum Wallboard: ASTM C-1396 and ANSI A69.1; USG <br />"Sheetrock Firecode" , Georgia-Pacific "Fireguard Gypsum Board Type X", <br />National Gypsum "Board Gold Bond Fire -Shield", or accepted equal; tapered <br />edge, 5/8 inch thick fire -rated with U.L. label unless otherwise indicated. <br />a. Use on all walls except as otherwise noted. <br />2. Damp Locations: Mold and Moisture Resistant Type "X" Gypsum Wallboard in <br />accordance with ASTM D-3273, with a perfect score of 10, ASTM C-1396 and ANSI <br />A69.1; USG Sheetrock Brand Mold Tough Regular Core or accepted equal. Board <br />shall be moisture/mold/mildew resistant, tapered edge, 5/8 inch thick fire -rated with U.L. <br />label. <br />a. Use on all walls at restrooms, shower rooms, toilet rooms, locker rooms, janitor <br />closets, kitchens, where wall will receive FRP finish, and other locations as <br />shown. Do not use behind ceramic tile. See specification section 09300 for <br />ceramic tile backing. <br />b. Limitations: <br />1) Avoid exposure to sustained temperatures exceeding 125 degrees F. <br />2) Avoid exposure to excessive, repetitive or continuous moisture before, during <br />and after installation. Eliminate sources of moisture immediately. <br />3) Not suitable for use as a substrate for tile in wet areas such as tubs and <br />showers, gang showers and other areas subject to direct water exposure. <br />3. Impact and Mold Resistant Type "X" Gypsum Wallboard: ASTM C-1629 and ASTM E- <br />119. USG "Mold Tough VHI Firecode Core Panels", National Gypsum "Hi -impact XP", <br />and CertainTeed "AirRenew Extreme Impact with M2Tech"; 5/8" thick with tapered <br />edge. <br />4. Exterior Gypsum Sheathing: ASTM C-1177 and ANSI A69.1; USG Securock Glass Mat <br />Sheathing, Type "X", 5/8" or accepted equal. <br />a. Use at exterior wall and at locations where indicated. <br />B. Metal Accessories: Fabricated from galvanized steel; suitable for intended use. <br />1. Corner Beads: 1-1 /4 inch x 1-1 /4 inch Cornerbead by Clinch -On Cornerbead Company, <br />or approved equal, size <br />2. Casing Bead: USG Series No. 200-B, or accepted qual. <br />3. Exposed Edge Trim: USG Series No. 200-A with back flange or accepted equal. <br />4. Metal Furring Channels: USG Metal Furring Channels, Dale FC -7/8, Gold Bond Furring <br />Channel or accepted equal 7/8 inch deep x 1-1/4 inch face width resilient metal furring <br />channel. <br />K <br />
